St Gerald's College, Castlebar
St Gerald's College is an Irish all-boys De La Salle secondary school located in Castlebar, County Mayo. As of September 2016, there are approximately 45 teachers and 600 students attending the school. The original school was opened in 1908. The current school was opened in 1971. In 2009, the school celebrated its centenary. A new extension was added to the school and opened in 2013. Gaelic games ( ga, Cluichí Gaelacha) are a set of sports played worldwide, though they are particularly popular in Ireland, where they originated. They include Gaelic football, hurling, Gaelic handball and rounders. Football and hurling, the most popular of the sports, are both organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA). Women's versions of hurling and football are also played: camogie, organised by the Camogie Association of Ireland, and ladies' Gaelic football, organised by the Ladies' Gaelic Football Association. Martin Carney
Martin Carney ( ga, Máirtín Ó Cearnaigh) is an Irish former Gaelic footballer. Since retirement, Carney has maintained a national presence as commentator for RTÉ and TV analyst with ''The Sunday Game''. Early life Born in Bundoran, County Donegal, although he was raised in Ballyshannon, Carney was educated at St Eunan's College, Letterkenny, played Gaelic football for the school team, and is the older brother of former college president Michael Carney. Ger Feeney
Ger Feeney ( 1954 – 10 October 2010) was an Irish Gaelic footballer who played for the Mayo county team. Personal life Feeney was a native of Cortoon, Ballintubber, and studied at Ballinafad College. He was a highly regarded GAA player in the 1970s. He won a minor All-Ireland title in 1971 and an U21 winners medal in 1974. He made his championship debut for Mayo in 1972 against Sligo at McHale Park, Castlebar. His sons Richie and Alan Feeney, and his nephew, John Feeney, are all members of the Mayo football squad. One of his brothers was a Mayo county secretary, Sean Feeney. Death He and his close friend, businessman Donal McEllin, drowned in a boating accident off Inishbofin in October 2010. Ciarán Kelly (born 14 March 1980), is an Irish former professional footballer and head coach for Lusail SC in Qatar who played as a goalkeeper. He last played football for Sligo Rovers in the League of Ireland Premier Division until 2013. Early life He was born and went to primary school in Roundfort, a small parish near Ballinrobe, in south County Mayo. Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. The sport takes place in pools or open water (e.g., in a sea or lake). Cillian O'Connor (born 1992) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays for Ballintubber and the Mayo county team. O'Connor is the leading all-time top scorer in the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Career O'Connor made his Ballintubber club debut whilst still a teenager in 2010. Aidan O'Shea (Mayo Gaelic Footballer)
Aidan O'Shea (born 29 June 1990) is a Gaelic footballer who plays for Breaffy and the Mayo county team. He is captain of the senior team at Breaffy. Career O'Shea made his debut for the Mayo seniors against New York in 2009 and since then has been one of Mayo's best players, winning an All-Star in 2013 and playing in midfield in two All-Ireland football finals, the 2012 decider, which Mayo lost by 0–13 to 2–11 against Donegal and the 2013 decider, which Mayo lost by 1–14 to 2–12 against Dublin.
