St George FC, commonly called Saints or Budapest, is a semi-professional Australian association football, soccer club based in the St George (Sydney), St George district in the south of Sydney. The club was founded by Hungarian immigrants in 1957 as Budapest Club and by 1965 was renamed to St. George-Budapest Club. One of the top clubs of Australia from the 1960s to the 1980s, St George currently competes in the second-highest tier of Australian soccer, the National Premier Leagues NSW. Their former home ground was the St George Stadium, but due to its dilapidated state, St George has played its youth and senior fixtures at Bicentennial Park South, Ilinden Sports Centre since 2018. Bicentennial Park South, currently known as Rockdale Ilinden Sports Centre, is a football (soccer) stadium in Rockdale, a suburb of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia. The venue is owned by Bayside Council and is currently leased and operated by the Rockdale Ilinden Football Club who compete in various local competitions, along with the top tier of men's football in the state, the National Premier Leagues NSW. The stadium was an open field prior to a redevelopment which began in October 2008 and completed with an official opening in December 2009. History Bicentennial Park was opened in 1988.
