St Athan Road
St Athan Road is the main road used to travel between Cowbridge and St Athan or further on to Barry by using the B4265 road. It begins east of Eglwys Brewis and north of East Camp where Cowbridge Road ends. It travels just past St Mary Church and directly through The Herberts, where it crosses the A48 and continues on past Llandough before finally reaching Cowbridge. It is located west from the centre of London, west from the centre of Cardiff, south-east from the centre of Swansea and north-nest from the centre of Taunton. The road is approximately from the coastal tidal high water mark. Cowbridge
Cowbridge ( cy, Y Bont-faen) is a market town in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, approximately west of the centre of Cardiff. The Cowbridge with Llanblethian community and civil parish elect a town council. A Cowbridge electoral ward exists for elections to the Vale of Glamorgan Council. This ward includes Cowbridge, Llanblethian and Llanfair. The total population of the ward taken at the 2011 census was 6,180. St Athan
St Athan ( cy, Sain Tathan) is a village and community in the Vale of Glamorgan in South Wales. The village and its parish church are dedicated to Saint Tathan. The church dates to the 13th–14th century, though an earlier church was dated to the Norman period. The village and the adjacent dormitory village of Eglwys Brewis are known primarily for the MOD St Athan RAF base. There are two pubs in the village, as well as a football team at St Athan Football Club and the St Athan Golf Club. The community includes West Aberthaw. Barry ( cy, Y Barri; ) is a town in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, on the north coast of the Bristol Channel approximately south-southwest of Cardiff. B4265 Road
The B4265 road (often known as the Barry-Llantwit road) is a main road in the Vale of Glamorgan, southeastern Wales, running in a northwesterly direction along near the coast. It links Cardiff Airport to Bridgend, lasting for 15.9 miles (25.6 km). The road begins at the roundabout near the airport and the village of Penmark at as a continuation of the A4226 road leading from Barry. Passing the junction turnoff to Gileston and St Athan, at Llantwit Major, the B4270 road branches off to the northwest to Llandow Industrial Estate. The road then moves progressively in northwesterly direction until St Brides Major, where the B4524 road to the south connects it to Southerndown and Ogmore-by-Sea. Eglwys Brewis
Eglwys Brewis is a village in the Vale of Glamorgan in south Wales. It is located just to the north of the village of St Athan, south of Flemingston and northeast of Llantwit Major. Greenlands and St Mary Church lie to the north by road from Eglwys Brewis. The village consists primarily of residential estates which were originally built in the mid-20th century for service families stationed at nearby RAF St Athan. The estates are regularly used by driving instructors in the Vale of Glamorgan. Nant y Stepsau flows in the vicinity. East Camp
East Camp is an Ex-MOD housing estate opposite the MOD St Athan main east entrance within St Athan. The housing estate sits between the village of St Athan and Flemingston but does not constitute a village itself. It falls under the Flemingston & Eglwys Brewis electoral ward. Due to it being Ex-MOD property there are some particular arrangements regarding build and service supply to the properties. The Sewage is handled by Kelda Water Services (Defence) Limited and fresh water, management of the private parking, street lighting and areas of play is handled by a society called the East Vale Residents Co. Ltd. who outsource to Cadarn, the parent group of Newydd Housing Association. East Camp houses a Food Bank. A48 Road (Great Britain)
The A48 is a trunk road in Great Britain running from the A40 at Highnam, west of Gloucester, England, to the A40 at Carmarthen, Wales. Before the Severn Bridge opened on 8 September 1966, it was a major route between England and South Wales. For most of its route, it runs almost parallel to the M4 motorway. During times of high winds at the Severn Bridge, the A48 is used as part of the diversion route and is still marked as a Holiday Route. From Gloucester, the A48 runs through the villages of Minsterworth, Westbury-on-Severn, connects to a link road to Cinderford in the Forest of Dean then through Newnham, Blakeney and since 1995, bypassing Lydney on the west bank of the River Severn.
