St. Sylvesters GAA
St Sylvester's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Malahide, Fingal, Republic of Ireland, Ireland. The club was founded in 1903 and last won the Dublin Senior Football Championship in 1996. The club plays hurling and Gaelic football. In 1996, they became the only Fingal to win the Dublin Senior Football championship when under former Galway midfielder, Brian Talty, they defeated Erins Isle in the final. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball and rounders. Declan Rooney
Declan Rooney (born 1983/1984) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who played in the 2010 All-Ireland Final. He is a defender. A Burren stalwart, he won a Down Senior Football Championship medal in 2010 when his club won that competition for the first since 1997. He won another in 2018, after turning 34 (he missed the 2011 county championship because of going over on his ankle). The Dublin county ladies' football team represents Dublin GAA in ladies' Gaelic football. The team competes in inter-county competitions such as the All-Ireland Senior Ladies' Football Championship, the Leinster Senior Ladies' Football Championship and the Ladies' National Football League. The Limerick county football team represents Limerick in men's Gaelic football and is governed by Limerick GAA, the county board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Brian Talty
Brian Talty (born 12 May 1955) is a former Gaelic footballer who played at senior level for the Galway county team. Talty was born in Tuam, County Galway, where he played Gaelic football with Tuam Stars. While training as a PE teacher at Thomond College in Limerick, he won an All-Ireland Club Football Championship as a star midfielder in a team that featured the Spillane brothers, Mick and Pat. With Galway Talty won a National Football League medal in 1981. He played for Galway against Dublin in the 1983 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final, although injury forced his substitution in the second half of that game. Dublin won the final, despite finishing with twelve players. Galway finished with fourteen players. Talty won two Dublin Senior Football Championship with Parnells in 1987 and 1988. Ray Silke
Ray Silke (born 17 August 1970) is a former Irish sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Corofin and was their centre-back and captain when they won the All-Ireland on St Patrick's Day in 1998. Corofin were the first Connacht Club to ever win the Andy Kerrigan Cup in '98 and the club won it several more times after that. He was also a member of the Galway senior inter-county team from the 1990s until 2001. Benny Gaughran (Gaelic Footballer)
Bernard Laurence Gaughran (born 16 July 1945), better known as Benny Gaughran is a solicitor and Gaelic footballer. He played Gaelic football at a senior level in four different decades starting in the 1960s with Clan na Gael (Louth), UCD (Dublin), Civil Service (Dublin) and St Sylvester's (Dublin) GAA clubs and was a member of the Louth Minor & Senior inter-county teams from the 1960s until the 1980s and the Dublin Over 40s team in the 1990s. He received several All Stars nominations, and won an All-Ireland Club medal with UCD (Dublin), three Dublin Championship medals, a National League medal, a Railway Cup medal, a Sigerson’s medal (as captain) and many other honours.
