St. Peter is a constituency of the House of Representatives (Antigua and Barbuda), House of Representatives of Antigua and Barbuda that takes up portions of the Parish of Saint Peter (Antigua), Parish of Saint Peter, Parish of Saint George (Antigua), Parish of Saint George, and the Parish of Saint John (Antigua), Parish of Saint John. It has 3,041 registered voters as of 2018. The constituencies counting center is Parham Primary School in Parham Village. The United Progressive Party is a political party in Antigua and Barbuda. Previously led by Baldwin Spencer, it was the governing party from 2004 to 2014. North Sound
Sir Vivian Richards Stadium is a stadium in North Sound, Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda. It was built for use in the 2007 Cricket World Cup where it hosted Super 8 matches. The stadium usually caters for 10,000 people, but temporary seating doubled its capacity for the 2007 World Cup. The stadium is named after former West Indies cricket captain Viv Richards. Pares, Antigua And Barbuda
Pares is a small town in central Antigua. it is located to the north of Potworks Dam and south of the township of Parham on the road between Freemans and Willikies. History Sugar John Pare owned 153 acres and died in 1757. Rachel Warner, the wife of Ashton Warner (d. 1789) held 153 acres in 1803 and was the daughter of John Pare. The slave registration listed 13 children, 89 women, and 63 men in 1787. Samuel Otto-Baijer, member of council and chief baron of Court of Exchequer, was born in Pares on May 1, 1782, and died in Philadelphia on December 20, 1835, at the age of 54. The Progressive Labour Movement was a major centre-left political party in Antigua and Barbuda and, until the 2000s, was the only political party to have defeated the Antigua Labour Party in an election. History The party was established in 1968 under the leadership of George Walter and Donald Halstead, emerging from the Antigua Workers Union, which had been established in 1967 as a breakaway from the Antigua Labour Party-affiliated Antigua Trades and Labour Union. In the 1971 election, it won 57.7% of the vote and 13 of the 17 seats in the House of Representatives, the first time the Antigua Labour Party had lost an election. Walter became Prime Minister. The Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) is a political party in Antigua and Barbuda. The current leader of the party is Gaston Browne, who serves as the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda. The party had previously been led by Lester Bird, who was chairman of the party since 1971, and became Prime Minister and political leader in 1994.
