The "Macedonian Orthodox Cathedral of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary" (Macedonian: Македонска Православна Kатедрала Успение на Пресвета Богородица), also known as "St. Mary" (Macedonian: Пресвета Богородица), is a Macedonian Orthodox Church located in Reynoldsburg, Ohio ( Columbus area). The Dormition of the Mother of God is a Great Feast of the Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox, and Eastern Catholic Churches (except the East Syriac churches). It celebrates the "falling asleep" (death) of Mary the ''Theotokos'' ("Mother of God", literally translated as ''God-bearer''), and her being taken up into heaven (bodily assumption). The Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of America and Canada ( mk, Американско-канадска епархија) is one of 10 dioceses of the Macedonian Orthodox Church. Operating a near total of forty churches in Canada and the United States, the diocese is headed by Metropolitan Methodius.
