St. Luke Medical Center
St. Luke Medical Center is an abandoned 165-bed hospital located in the northeastern region of Pasadena, California. Upon opening in 1933, the hospital was one of only 2 hospitals to serve the city of Pasadena for nearly 70 years, in tandem with Huntington Hospital on the western side of the city. St Luke ultimately closed in 2002 due to financial issues stemming from the hospital's parent company Tenet Healthcare. The hospital has since become a famous location for filming as it has appeared in various music videos, TV shows, and movies over the years. History The hospital was originally built in 1933 to serve the Northeastern communities of Pasadena, Altadena, and Sierra Madre. The hospital was founded by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Orange to act as a medical facility for the local area in tandem with Huntington Hospital (opened in 1892). Eaton Canyon
Eaton Canyon is a major canyon beginning at the Eaton Saddle near Mount Markham and San Gabriel Peak in the San Gabriel Mountains in the Angeles National Forest, United States. Its drainage flows into the Rio Hondo river and then into the Los Angeles River. It is named after Judge Benjamin S. Eaton, who lived in the Fair Oaks Ranch House in 1865 not far from Eaton Creek. The most well-known portion of the canyon is the Eaton Canyon Nature Center in Pasadena, California. The trailhead of the Mount Wilson Toll Road is in the canyon. History Eaton Canyon is in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. Originally called "El Precipicio" by the Spanish settlers because of its steep gorges, the canyon falls under several governmental jurisdictions. Benjamin Eaton was hired by Don Benito Wilson to bring water to the Fair Oaks Ranch. In August 1877, naturalist John Muir set out from Pasadena for an expedition into the San Gabriels. It is the second installment in the ''Halloween'' film series and is a continuation sequel to ''Halloween'' (1978).
