St. Joseph Sound
St. Joseph Sound is a body of water on the Gulf of Mexico coast of Pasco and Pinellas counties. The sound lies between the mainland and Anclote Key, Three Rooker Island, and Honeymoon Island, from the north end of Anclote Key to the Dunedin Causeway. Pasco County is located on the west central coast of the U.S. state of Florida. According to the 2020 census, the population was 561,691. Its county seat is Dade City, and its largest city is Zephyrhills. The county is named after Samuel Pasco. Pasco County is included in the Tampa Bay Area and is primarily a bedroom community for Tampa and St. Petersburg. Anclote Key
Anclote Key is an island off the Gulf Coast of the U.S. state of Florida, the largest island in the Anclote Keys, located at near Tarpon Springs. Its name originates from the Spanish term for "anchor." The island is accessible only by boat and is split between Anclote Key Preserve State Park and Anclote National Wildlife Reserve. The island contains mangrove wetlands, coastal pine flatwoods, and beaches. A large number of shorebirds nest and breed on Anclote Key and the surrounding islands. Sand Key is located nearby. Most of the island is located within Pasco County, while its southernmost section is in Pinellas County. Three Rooker Island
Three Rooker Island, (also known as Three Rooker Bar) is an island in Pinellas County, Florida. The island is west of Tarpon Springs, south of Anclote Key and north of Honeymoon Island. It is accessible only by boat and its shape and size often change from interaction with ocean currents. Compared to neighboring barrier islands, Three Rooker Island is newly formed and emerged in the 1980s as water currents built up the sand bar above sea level. By the 1990s it was large enough for vegetation to establish itself on the newly formed island further stabilizing it and making it more resistant to washing away. Three Rooker Island is part of the Anclote Key Preserve State Park and is partially protected for nesting seabirds while also allowing it to be a popular place for local boaters. State Road 586, also known as Curlew Road, is a state highway in the U.S. state of Florida. A five-mile-long east–west street serving northern Pinellas County, it currently extends from an intersection with Bayshore Boulevard ( U.S. Route 19 Alternate (US 19 Alt.) and SR 595) in Dunedin eastward to an intersection with Tampa Road ( SR 584 to the southeast, CR 752 - a former alignment of SR 584 - to the northwest) in Oldsmar.
