St. Joseph's Hospital (Aarhus)
St. Joseph's Hospital (Danish language, Danish: Sankt Josephs Hospital) is a building and former hospital in Aarhus, Denmark that was built and inaugurated in 1907. It was built for the Sisters of St. Joseph to function as a hospital in the city of Aarhus as a supplement to the public hospitals. It was designed by the architect Thorkel Møller in Baroque Revival architecture, baroque revival style. The Sisters of St. Joseph operated St. Joseph's Hospital for 64 years until it sold the building to Aarhus County in 1971. It has since housed VUC Aarhus for a number of years and as of 2015 Kiloo owned the building and was planning to make it their headquarters. Midtbyen, Aarhus
Midtbyen (lit. "The Mid-town"), also known as Aarhus Center or City, is the inner part of Aarhus. Midtbyen is part of district Aarhus C, with postal code 8000, together with Vesterbro, Nørre Stenbro and Frederiksbjerg and it has a population of 55,000. Midtbyen is characterized by narrow, winding, cobbled streets and a busy street life, with many small squares, cafés and shops. Parts of the old town center has been saved and protected from destructive modern development and can be experienced in the neighbourhood of Latinerkvarteret, but old individual listed houses are scattered all across Midtbyen. A large part of the area is carfree and the neighborhood has been increasingly pedestrianised. The square of Store Torv (lit.: ''large square'') in front of the cathedral, forms a natural centre of the large pedestrian zone.
