St. James Memorial Chapel (Howe, Indiana)
St. James Memorial Chapel is a former Episcopal chapel located on the grounds of Howe Military School, in Howe, Indiana. It was built in 1902, and is a one-story, Tudor Revival style brick building sheathed with a limestone veneer. It measures 152 feet by 64 feet, and has additions made in 1909, 1914 (Mother's Chapel), and 1955. The building features a two-story, crenellated corner tower. ''Note:'' This includes and Accompanying photographs. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on September 16, 2001. In 2016 the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana disassociated and ended the relationship between the Episcopal Church and Howe Military School. The Chapel is no longer under the care of the Episcopal Church and cannot be regarded as Episcopal. Star Milling and Electric Company Historic District, also known as Star Mill Falls and Star Gristmill, is a historic industrial complex and national historic district located in Lima Township, LaGrange County, Indiana. The district encompasses one contributing building, one contributing site, and two contributing structures. They are a small hydroelectric powerhouse (1929), two dams (1929), and the site of the original 1870 grist mill / hydroelectric generating plant. Reginald Mallett
James Reginald Mallett (February 27, 1893 – February 14, 1965) was the third Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Northern Indiana. Early life and education Mallett was born on February 27, 1893, in Cincinnati, Ohio, the son of the Reverend Frank James Mallett and Mary Emily Long. He was educated at Erasmus Hall High School in New York City, before enrolling at the University of North Carolina from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 1915. He also studied at the General Theological Seminary, graduated with a Bachelor of Divinity in 1918, and was awarded a Doctor of Sacred Theology in 1945. Nashotah House awarded him a Doctor of Divinity in 1944. Ordained ministry Mallett was ordained deacon in May 1918 and priest in December 1918 by the Bishop of North Carolina Joseph Blount Cheshire.
