CSI-St. George's Church was built in 1844 AD by the Church Missionary Society (CMS) and has been unionized in 1947 into the Church of South India, a uniting Church. History The power struggle in the Nizam's State involved both the British and the French and both sides continued to struggle until in 1758, the French forces were recalled to Pondicherry to take part in the attack on Madras. In 1779 a British Resident was installed at the court of the Nizam. Eleven years later under the terms of a fresh treaty, two battalions of Sepoys under British officers were supplied to the Nizam who was responsible for their salaries. A separate clause stipulated that these men were not to be used against the allies of the company. So gradually the British became a force to be reckoned with not only in military terms but also financially. The Church of England (C of E) is the established Christian church in England and the mother church of the international Anglican Communion. It traces its history to the Christian church recorded as existing in the Roman province of Britain by the 3rd century and to the 6th-century Gregorian mission to Kent led by Augustine of Canterbury. The Heritage Conservation Committee under HUDA was formed by state government in 1981 to retain architectural, historical and social Social imaginary, value of buildings. Hyderabad Urban Development Authority has listed almost 160 buildings in Hyderabad, India, Hyderabad in Telangana state as heritage structures. Almost 70% of heritage buildings are in private hands. St Joseph's Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral in Hyderabad, India. It is the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Hyderabad and one of the most beautiful churches of Hyderabad and Secunderabad cities of Telangana, India. History Established in 1820 AD, the construction of the present structure began in 1869 when Fr. Antonio Tagliabue of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions (PIME), bought an extensive plot of land near Chaderghat, in what is now called Gunfoundry (so named for the ammunition centre built there by the Nizam of Hyderabad), to build a school, a church and a convent. Msgr. Pietro Caprotti (Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions), laid its foundation on 18 March 1870, the eve of the Solemnity of St. Joseph. Fr.
