St Andrews Christian College
St Andrews Christian College is an independent, co-educational school situated in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Wantirna South. The school was founded in 1983 by the Presbyterian Church of Victoria, and takes students from Prep to Year 12. The College expresses a Christian and biblical perspective and approach in its curriculum and culture. Currently there are families from over 35 different Protestant denominations attending the College. The college was the centre of controversy in 2020–2022 due to sexual assault of students by its sports coordinator Steve Mellody. The college also gain notoriety for urging parents to support the controversial religious discrimination bill. St Andrew's College, Drygrange, located near Melrose, Scotland, was a Roman Catholic seminary founded in 1953 and closed in 1986. History Foundation Founded by Gordon Gray shortly after he became Archbishop of St Andrews and Edinburgh, the college was operated by the archdiocese in a large country house called Drygrange House. The house, standing north of the Leaderfoot Viaduct, included sizeable grounds bordered by the River Leader, a tributary of the River Tweed.
