Sri Lankan Cricket Team In India In 1993–94
The Sri Lanka national cricket team are toured India in January and February 1994 to play three Test matches and three One Day Internationals (ODIs). The tour followed the Sri Lankan's participation in the 1993 Hero Cup, where they reached the semi-final and was surrounded by controversy. Sri Lanka only toured India after the Pakistan national cricket team pulled out citing security concerns. The Sri Lankan team manager, Bandula Warnapura, as was the case a few months earlier at the Hero Cup, blamed the batting failures of the first two test matches on poor umpiring decisions. The series was played on spin-friendly pitches on which India had built up a formidable record. Mohammed Azharuddin
Mohammad Azharuddin (born 8 February 1963) is an Indian politician and a former international cricketer and former captain of India national cricket team. He is the working president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee and was the member of parliament for Moradabad. He played 99 Test matches and 334 One Day Internationals for the Indian national cricket team before his international career came to an end after he was found to have been involved in a match fixing scandal in 2000 and subsequently banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India for life. Don Anurasiri
Sangarange Don Anurasiri (born 25 February 1966) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played in 18 Test matches and 45 One Day International from 1986 to 1998. He was a left-arm orthodox spinner who spent his career in and out of the national side. Post-retirement, he spent many years as a member of Sri Lanka's national cricket selection committee. He was born at Panadura in 1966. International career He made his Test debut aged just 20 in a match against Pakistan at Colombo on 14 March 1986. Dulip Liyanage
Dulip Kapila Liyanage (born 6 June 1972) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer. He is a left-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He studied at the Kalutara Vidyalaya. International career Liyanage made his Test debut in the same Test as Muttiah Muralitharan in 1992–93, and when bowling, captured the wicket of Tom Moody with his third ball. He went wicketless during the summers against India in 1993–94, and didn't return until 1997. Following this he played in several One-day internationals before injury in Pakistan ruled him out again. Ruwan Senani Kalpage (born 19 February 1970) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer. He was a left-handed batsman and a right-arm offbreak bowler. Deshabandu Pinnaduwage Aravinda de Silva ( si, අරවින්ද ද සිල්වා; born 17 October 1965) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and captain, who has also played in English county cricket. de Silva helped Sri Lanka to win the 1996 Cricket World Cup and brought Sri Lanka from underdog status to present-day form. Deshabandu Hashan Prasantha Tillakaratne (born 14 July 1967) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer and a former Test captain for Sri Lanka. Dulip Prasanna Samaraweera (born 12 February 1972) is a former Sri Lankan cricketer who played in seven Test matches and five One Day Internationals for his country from 1993 to 1995. He was a right-handed opening batsmen and occasional right arm off-spinner. Rajesh Chauhan (; born 19 December 1966) is a former Indian cricketer who played in 21 Tests and 35 One Day Internationals from 1993 to 1998. He was part of the Indian spin trio of Kumble (Leg break) -Raju (Left arm orthodox)-Chauhan (Off break), in the 1990s. Venkatapathy Raju
Sagi Lakshmi Venkatapathy Raju, sometimes spelt Venkapathy Raju (born 9 July 1969) is a former Indian cricketer , cricket administrators & cricket coach. He came into the Indian side in 1989–90 after capturing 32 wickets in the domestic season. He made his Test and One Day International début in the tour of New Zealand. When sent in as a night-watchman in his first Test innings, he batted for more than two hours for 31 runs while six wickets fell at the other end.
