Sredna Gora
Sredna Gora ( bg, Средна гора ) is a mountain range in central Bulgaria, situated south of and parallel to the Balkan Mountains and extending from the Iskar to the west and the elbow of Tundzha north of Yambol to the east. Sredna Gora is 285 km long, reaching 50 km at its greatest width. Its highest peak is Golyam Bogdan at . The mountain is divided into three parts by the rivers Topolnitsa and Stryama — a western (''Ihtimanska Sredna Gora''), a central (''Sashtinska Sredna Gora'') and an eastern part (''Sarnena Gora''). Golyam Bogdan
Golyam Bodan, also known as Bogdan, is the highest peak (1604 m) in the Sredna Gora geographical area in Bulgaria. Location Golyam Bogdan is surrounded by forests on all sides. Looking from its elevation toward the South, and the North, there is a beautiful landscape and a view toward Barikadi and Vylk, two summits in the Balkan Mountains. On the steep South side of the summit, there is a beech forest. Along the beech forest, there are large rocks, covered in moss - the so called "Detelinova Peshtera", an attraction often visited by hiking tourists. Two rivers stream from Golyam Bogdan - Pyasachnik, Kriva reka, and Luda Yana. Belovo, Bulgaria
Belovo ( bg, Белово ) is a town in South West Bulgaria. It is the seat of Belovo Municipality. It is located in Pazardzhik Province, where the Yadenitza flows into the Maritsa river, at the foot of three mountain ranges (Rila, Rhodopes and Sredna Gora), on the western end of the Thracian Plain. Rila
Rila ( bg, Рила, ) is the highest mountain range of Bulgaria, the Balkans, Balkan Peninsula and Southeast Europe. It is situated in southwestern Bulgaria and forms part of the Rila–Rhodope Mountains, Rhodope Massif. The highest summit is Musala at an elevation of 2,925 m which makes Rila the sixth highest mountain range in Europe after the Caucasus, the Alps, Sierra Nevada (Spain), Sierra Nevada, the Pyrenees and Mount Etna, and the highest one between the Alps and the Caucasus. Pancharevo Gorge
Pancharevo Gorge (Pancharevo saddle) is a deep and narrow gorge in the upper stream of the Iskar River in western Bulgaria. It is sandwiched between the mountains of Vitosha and Plana to the southwest and the Lozen Mountain to the northeast. The gorge forms the boundary between Samokov and Sofia valleys. Its average altitude is 700 m. The villages of Pancharevo, Kokalyane and Dolni Pasarel also located in the gorge. Rose Valley, Bulgaria
The Rose Valley ( bg, Розова долина, Rozova dolina) is a region in Bulgaria located just south of the Balkan Mountains and the eastern part of the lower Sredna Gora chain to the south. Geologically, it consists of two river valleys, those of the Stryama to the west and the Tundzha to the east. The Rose Valley of Kazanlak stretches for 10-12 kilometers and is 95 kilometers long with an average height of 350 meters and an area of 1895 square kilometers. Respectively, the Kalofer Valley of Roses covers an area of 1387 square kilometers with a length of 55 kilometers and 16 kilometers width. The valley is famous for its rose-growing industry which have been cultivated there for centuries, and which produces close to half (1.7 tonnes) of the world's rose oil.
