Spryfield Attack
The Spryfield Attack are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team from Spryfield, Nova Scotia. They compete in the Nova Scotia Junior C Hockey League as members of Hockey Nova Scotia and Hockey Canada and are the winners of the 2014 Maritime-Hockey North Junior C Championship. Spryfield Attack for the second time were 2015-16 Nova Scotia Junior C Champions and 'silver medalists' in the 2015-16 Maritime North Junior Hockey Champions in New Brunswick. History The Spryfield Silver and Black Attack was founded in 1989 as a Junior Hockey Team based out of Spryfield, Nova Scotia. In their first year, they finished third in the League, and won the Provincial title. The team continued in operation for 1990. In 1991, the team was turned over to Chebucto Minor Hockey, as their owner and founder, Stephen Adams, became an Alderman for the City of Halifax. Spryfield, Nova Scotia
Spryfield is community within the urban area of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. History The land now known as Spryfield was first occupied by the Miꞌkmaq people, who hunted and fished at Beaver Lake (now called Long Lake). The Miꞌkmaq would later help the first Europeans in settling upon their arrival by the mid-18th century. The community gets its name from Captain Lieutenant-General William Spry, who purchased land in the area in 1769. Originally known as ''Spry's Field'', the community is centred on Spry's former estate. Founded around 1770, by Captain William Spry, who purchased land there and established the settlement with the aid of stationed soldiers from the nearby Halifax garrison. In 1783, he sold the property and returned to England. The name ''Spryfield'' is also sometimes used to refer to the general area of Halifax's South Mainland, which includes a number of communities along the Herring Cove and Purcell's Cove Roads. Tignish Aces
The Tignish Aces (officially the Tignish Perry's Construction Aces) are a Canadian Junior C ice hockey team based in Tignish, Prince Edward Island. They play in the Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League. They play at the Credit Union Arena and are coached by Dwayne Handrahan. History The Aces were founded in 1997 as a member of the Prince Edward Island Minor Junior Hockey League. They won the league championship in their first season and again in 2003 and 2005. They have been historically the most successful team in the league, winning 10 championships. Incident vs Sherwood In March 2013, in the final game of the season, a brawl erupted when, as handshakes were taking place, three players from the Sherwood Falcons crossed centre ice and charged the Aces' players. The East Hants Penguins are a Junior ice hockey team from East Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada. The Penguins play in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League and are the 2007 Don Johnson Cup Maritime Junior B Champions. History The Penguins were founded in 2000, but East Hants has a history that dates back decades in junior hockey. In 2007, the Penguins won their first league title and went on to the Don Johnson Cup Maritime Junior B Championships. They defeated the host Cumberland County Blues 7–2, Central West Junior Hockey League's Central Jr. Cataracts 11–2, New Brunswick's Madawaska 506 who played in Quebec all season 12–4, and the Island Junior Hockey League's Kensington Vipers 6–5 in overtime to finish first in the tournament round robin with a 4–0–0 record.
