The township takes its name from Springett Penn (II), Springett Penn, grandson of Pennsylvania founder William Penn. Located east and northeast of the city of York, Pennsylvania, York, the township hosts the York Galleria shopping mall and a large Harley-Davidson manufacturing plant. Strickler Family Farmhouse
Strickler Family Farmhouse, also known as the County Farm, is a historic home located at Springettsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania. Description The farmhouse consists of three sections: a -story, 2 bay by 1 bay, Germanic influenced limestone main house; a -story, brick Georgian-style wing, built about 1835; and a 2-story brick ell, built about 1865. Also on the property is the Strickler family cemetery, with burials dating back to the 1700s. Pleasureville Historic District is a national historic district located at Springettsbury Township in York County, Pennsylvania. The district includes 105 contributing buildings and one contributing site in the crossroad community of Pleasureville. Most of the buildings are residential include 19th century vernacular dwellings with notable examples of early 20th century Colonial Revival and Italianate style dwellings. Notable non-residential buildings include a former schoolhouse (c. 1870), meeting hall (c. 1875), former store and accessory shop (c. 1860), and small industrial shop (c. 1930). Diamond Silk Mill
Diamond Silk Mill, also known as York Silk Manufacturing Company, is a historic silk mill located at Springettsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania. It was designed by architect John A. Dempwolf and built about 1900. The mill is a 3 1/2-story, brick building with heavy timber frame trussing on a stone foundation, and measures 50 feet by 300 feet. It has a hipped roof, and features an octagonal 100-foot high smokestack and decorative corbelled brick cornice in the Romanesque Revival style. Hellam Township is a township in York County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 5,921 at the 2020 census. Founded in 1739, it was the first township in the area, and it originally included the entirety of modern York and Adams counties. Fire department services are provided jointly by the Hellam and Wrightsville fire departments located in the boroughs of Hallam and Wrightsville. History The Mifflin House, an Underground Railroad site in the township dating to the 1700s, was used by the Mifflin family in the 19th century to "hide freedom-seekers and ferry them across the Susquehanna River on their way to Philadelphia." Economy Spring Garden Township is headquarters to York International, a Johnson Controls Company and one of the largest suppliers of HVAC systems in the United States. The blast was felt up to 25 miles away, and blew out windows nearby as well as knocking down doors. York Galleria is an enclosed, indoor shopping mall located just northeast of York, Pennsylvania at the intersection of U.S. Route 30 and Pennsylvania Route 24. The anchor stores are Boscov's, Gold's Gym, H&M, Marshalls, and Hollywood Casino York. There is one vacant anchor store that was once The Bon-Ton, and the upper level of a former Sears store remains vacant. Restaurants The food court on the upper level contains counter service restaurants. The mall's only sit-down restaurant, Ruby Tuesday, closed in 2008.
