''Spring Break '87'' is a 1987 concert performed by Australian rock group Crowded House at Daytona Beach, Florida, United States. The concert was recorded and released by MTV for the United States, and featured all of Crowded House's singles that had been released up to that point. It also featured a small handful of songs from the then forthcoming album ''Temple of Low Men'', such as "When You Come" and "Better Be Home Soon". Crowded House also played two songs by Split Enz, and a cover of the Hunters & Collectors hit song "Throw Your Arms Around Me". Neil Finn
Neil Mullane Finn (born 27 May 1958) is a New Zealand singer-songwriter and musician who is known for being a member of Crowded House, Split Enz (which he co-fronted with brother Tim), and Fleetwood Mac. Finn rose to prominence in the late 1970s with Split Enz and wrote many of the band's most successful songs, including " One Step Ahead", " History Never Repeats", " I Got You", and " Message to My Girl". After Split Enz broke up in 1984, Finn founded Crowded House with Split Enz's final drummer Paul Hester in 1985 and served as the band's lead singer. The group achieved international success in 1987 when they released the single " Don't Dream It's Over", written by Finn. After Crowded House disbanded in 1996, Finn and his brother released two albums as the Finn Brothers, before reforming Crowded House in 2006. "Mean to Me" is the debut single of rock band Crowded House, released in 1986. The single was only released as a 7" vinyl, and was released two months prior to the group's self-titled debut album, ''Crowded House'', on which the song appears. It peaked at No. 26 in Australia. N.B. The Kent Report chart was licensed by Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) between mid 1983 and 19 June 1988. At the 1986 Countdown Australian Music Awards the song was nominated for Best Debut Single. The song was often performed as the opening song for concerts, and it was most notably the first song performed at the group's final performance in 1996's Farewell to the World concert. Mark Jeremy Seymour (born 26 July 1956) is an Australian musician and vocalist. He was the frontman and songwriter of rock band Hunters & Collectors from 1981 until 1998. Seymour has carved a solo career, releasing his debut solo album in 1997 and winning an ARIA Award in 2001 for ''One Eyed Man'' in the category of Best Adult Contemporary Album. Mitchell Froom
Mitchell Froom (born June 29, 1953) is an American musician and record producer. He was a member of the bands Gamma and Latin Playboys, and is currently the keyboardist for Crowded House. He has produced albums for several artists, including Richard Thompson, Los Lobos, Suzanne Vega, and Vonda Shepard. Career Froom began his career as a keyboard player in Sonoma County, California. The band Crossfire featured two keyboard players; Mitchell on one side of the stage and brother David on the other with Gary Pihl on guitar. He also played keyboards on the Ronnie Montrose-led group Gamma's third album '' Gamma 3'', as well as '' It's a Beautiful Day's'' David LaFlamme's 1978 solo album ''Inside Out''. He produced the first three Crowded House albums, which led to more production jobs with Richard Thompson, Los Lobos, American Music Club, Suzanne Vega and Paul McCartney. "One Step Ahead" is a 1980 song by New Zealand art rock group Split Enz. It was released November 1980 as the lead single from their sixth studio album '' Waiata''. After Split Enz's dissolution in 1984, singer Neil Finn continued to perform "One Step Ahead" with his next group Crowded House, in particular, the group performed the song live at their 1987 concert in Daytona known as '' Spring Break '87''. The single's b-side "In the Wars" was recorded in the ''Waiata'' recording sessions, however was not originally released as a track on the album, though was later appended as track twelve in the album's 2006 re-release.
