''Spotlight on a Murderer'' (french: Pleins feux sur l'assassin ) is a 1961 French psychodrama/murder-mystery film directed by Georges Franju. It was released on Blu-ray and DVD by Arrow Films in August 2017 in the UK and USA regions in an open-matte 1.37:1 transfer by Gaumont of the film's original 1.66:1 aspect ratio. Georges Franju
Georges Franju (; 12 April 1912 – 5 November 1987) was a French filmmaker. He was born in Fougères, Ille-et-Vilaine. Biography Early life Before working in French cinema, Franju held several different jobs. These included working for an insurance company and a noodle factory. He served briefly in the military in Algeria and was discharged in 1932. Upon his return, he studied to become a set designer and later created backdrops for music halls including Casino de Paris and the Folies Bergère. In the mid-thirties, Franju and Henri Langlois met through Franju's twin brother Jacques Franju.Ince, 2005. p.2 As well as creating the 16 mm short film ''Le Métro'', Langlois and Franju also started a short-lived film magazine and created a film club called ''Le Cercle du Cinema'' with 500 francs he borrowed from Langlois' parents. Pierre Brasseur (22 December 1905 – 16 August 1972), born Pierre-Albert Espinasse, was a French actor. Pascale Audret (12 October 1935, Neuilly-sur-Seine – 17 July 2000) was a French actress who was most active during the 1950s through the 1960s.
