Club Sport Huancayo is a Peruvian Association football, football club based in Huancayo, Junín. The club play in the Peruvian Primera División since 2009, having gained promotion after winning the 2008 Copa Perú. History Founding On February 7, 2007, ''Huancaína Sport Club'' was founded by the initiative of a beer company led by Raúl Rojas and Édgar Araníbar, which purchased the playing rights of ''Club Escuela de Fútbol Huancayo'', who was at that time playing in the ''Ligas Distritales del Peru, Liga Distrital de El Tambo''. In 2008, the club changed its name to Sport Huancayo to better identify themselves with the city of Huancayo. Estadio Huancayo
Estadio Huancayo is a multi-use stadium in Huancayo, Peru. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home of Sport Huancayo and Deportivo Junín. 2011 Torneo Descentralizado
The 2011 Torneo Descentralizado de Fútbol Profesional (known as the 2011 Copa Movistar for sponsorship reasons) was the ninety-fifth season of Association Peruvian football. A total of 16 teams competed in the tournament, with Universidad de San Martín as the defending champion. The Torneo Descentralizado began on 12 February and concluded on 14 December with the victory of Juan Aurich over Alianza Lima in the penalty kicks of the final Play-off, giving Juan Aurich its debut Peruvian title. Competition modus The sixteen teams played a round-robin home-and-away round for a total of 30 matches each. 2019 Copa Bicentenario
The 2019 Copa Bicentenario was played between June and July while the Peru national football team prepared for and competed in the 2019 Copa América. Copa Bicentenario
The Copa Bicentenario is a football competition in Peru played by the Association football, football clubs of the Peruvian Primera División, Liga 1 and Peruvian Segunda División, Liga 2. It was founded in 2019 by the Peruvian Football Federation and is played as a domestic football cup competition between clubs of the first and second division. It is named after the bicentennial of Peruvian Independence. Sporting Cristal are the current defending champions. History In Peru, there has never been a championship with the exception of the Copa de Campeones del Perú which was formed in 1919. Many attempts were made to crate a championship for both Liga 1 and Liga 2 teams but all have been kept active. The Copa Perú is a football tournament in Peru. Despite its name, it is not entirely an elimination-cup competition involving all Peruvian clubs, but rather a series of league tournaments leading to an elimination tournament, with regional league clubs as participants. List Of Peruvian Football Champions
The Peruvian football champions are the winners of the highest league in Peruvian football, which is currently named as Liga 1 and organized by Peruvian Football Federation. The Liga Peruana de Football was established in 1912. It was an amateur league that lasted until 1921 due to scheduling and organizing conflicts. In this league only teams from Lima participated. In 1926, the Peruvian Football Federation took control of organizing the tournament and continued the Peruvian Primera División with the introduction of teams from Callao. In 1951, the Primera División turned professional and in 1966, the Torneo Descentralizado was founded in which the first non-capital teams were invited to play the first national championship.
