Sport Clube Verdun
Sport Club Verdun (Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: ''Sport Klubi Verdun'', also in the São Vicente Crioulo: ''Sport Klube Verdun'') is a football (soccer) club that plays in the Sal Island League in Cape Verde. The team is based in the village of Pedra de Lume in the east of the island of Sal, though they play in Espargos' stadium, the home field which is made up of dirt is rarely used for practices. Its current chairman is Alcindo Conceição Silva and its current manager is Domingo Gomes who replaced Djulhiano Santos which he now manages Juventude. History The club was founded on May 1, 1945 and is the second oldest club on the island after SC Santa Maria. The club celebrated its 25th anniversary in 1970. Pedra De Lume
Pedra de Lume is a village in the northeastern part of the island of Sal, Cape Verde, Sal, Cape Verde. The village is situated on the east coast, about 5 km east of the island capital Espargos. It has a small port and a lighthouse, Farol de Pedra de Lume. Salt ponds Pedra de Lume has been famous for its salt evaporation ponds (''salinas''), exploitation of which began in the 18th century. The Sal Island Opening Tournament (Portuguese: ''Torneio de Abertura da Ilha do Sal'', Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: ''Turneiu de Abertura Idja du Sal'') is an opening tournament competition played during the season in the island of Sal, Cape Verde. The competition is organized by the Sal Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol de Sal, ARFS). The competition is similar to a league cup used in other countries. The first competition began in the 2000s. As the league later had two divisions, unlike other islands, the 2015 season had all of the clubs from the first and second divisions competed and extended to 11 rounds with several new clubs who started competing in official competitions. The group system was restored for the 2016-17 season and had two groups and each round, the leader of each group headed to the final and has two divisions.. 2014 Cape Verdean Football Championships
The 2014 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 35th of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. Its started on 5 April and finished on 31 May, earlier than the previous year as some days later, television viewers would later tune to the 2014 World Cup which took place in Brazil. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. CS Mindelense won the tenth title and their second in a row, its total number of titles superseded Sporting Praia's totals by one. They did not participate in the 2015 CAF Champions League. The Sal Island Super Cup (Portuguese: ''Super Copa da Ilha do Sal'', Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: ''Super Kopa da Idja du Sal'', Sal Crioulo: ''Super Taça Dja d'Sal'' São Vicente Crioulo: ''Super Kopa da Ilha d' Sal'') is a SuperCup competition played during the season in the island of Sal, Cape Verde. The Sal Premier Division is a regional championship played in Sal Island, Cape Verde. The winner of the championship plays in Cape Verdean football Championships of each season. The competition are organized by the Sal Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol de Sal, ARFS). The Premier Divisions contains eight clubs.
