Spirit Caravan
Spirit Caravan was an American doom metal / stoner rock band featuring guitarist and vocalist Scott "Wino" Weinrich. Biography Scott "Wino" Weinrich formed Spirit Caravan after the breakup of The Obsessed. The remainder of the band consisted of Dave Sherman (formerly of Wretched) on bass and vocals; and Gary Isom (formerly of Unorthodox) on drums. Weinrich credits them for encouraging him to join the band and become active musically again, after he had abandoned his music career.King of the Stone Age' Washington City Paper November 3, 2000 (Retrieved October 6, 2015) The band was originally entitled Shine, and they released a demo and 7" under this name. Rise Above Records
Rise Above Records is a London-based independent record label owned by Lee Dorrian (of the band Cathedral and formerly of Napalm Death). Founding Lee Dorrian started Rise Above Records in 1988 without the intention of the label being an ongoing position. It was during the same year that he had left his previous band, Napalm Death. Dorrian explained that it was predominantly done to "get the dole off my back as they were asking a lot of questions as Napalm Death were on the front cover of the ''NME'' and on TV three times in one week, but I was still living in a council flat and couldn't even afford the rent." Sixty Watt Shaman
Sixty Watt Shaman is an American rock band known for incorporating hard rock with blues, southern rock, doom, punk rock and heavy metal influences, originally based out of Towson, MD, Montgomery Village, MD, and currently Winchester, Virginia. Sixty Watt Shaman formed in 1996 out of a band originally called Approach, formed by Daniel Soren and Kurt Ubersax two years earlier in 1994. Ubersax and Soren recruited Joe Selby on bass and Chuck Dukehart on drums, and Approach played in and around the Baltimore area and recorded an album release. Later Ubersax was replaced on guitar by Joe Selby; and the band auditioned new bass players, selecting Jim Forrester to take on the job. They recorded and released their first studio album, Ultra Electric, in 1998. The band continued on to record two releases with Spitfire Records, and is now on Megalithic Media. MeteorCity Records is an American record label founded in 1997 by Jadd Shickler and Aaron Emmel in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
