Spinetta Jade was an Argentine rock-jazz band active between 1980 and 1985, interspersed with Almendra's reunion and the solo career of Luis Alberto Spinetta. History Early months In his early months, the band was formed by Luis Alberto Spinetta (guitar and main vocals), Pedro Aznar (bass-guitar), Lito Vitale (keyboards), Juan del Barrio (keyboards) and Pomo Lorenzo (drums). Luis Alberto Spinetta (23 January 1950 – 8 February 2012), nicknamed "El Flaco" (Spanish for "skinny"), was an Argentine singer, guitarist, composer and poet. One of the most influential Rock music, rock musicians of Argentina, he is regarded as one of the founders of Argentine rock, considered the first incarnation of Rock en español, Spanish-language rock. Pedro Aznar (born 23 July 1959) is an Argentine musician and singer-songwriter. He has a musical experience in jazz, Argentine folk and rock music and has a successful career as a solo artist. He is well known for giving rock songs a jazz-oriented style, by playing the fretless bass, with a big influence from Jaco Pastorius. He is a multi-instrumentalist and the author of several books of poetry published in Argentina. He plays an important part in Argentine rock, where in the mid-1970s, he had various appearances with groups like Madre Atómica, Alas and Pastoral. He became one of four members of Serú Girán in 1978, one of the most musically influential bands that dominated Argentina's rock circuit for the next four years. Serú Girán was an Argentine rock supergroup.
