Spider is a steel spinning roller coaster made by Maurer Söhne of Germany. The ride is located at the Lagoon Amusement Park in Farmington, Utah Farmington is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. The population was 24,531 at the 2020 census. The Lagoon Amusement Park and Station Park transit-oriented retail center (which includes a FrontRunner train station) are located in Farmi .... Spider was installed at Lagoon in 2003. Spider features spinning ride vehicles that can seat two sets of two passengers, facing in opposite directions. The vehicles feature the name of "The Spider and the Fly" for that was what this coaster was going to be named. During development of this ride, the named was shortened to "The Spider" because of unknown reasons. The spinning vehicles were already painted before the name change, thus has the developing name. Maurer AG, formerly known as Maurer Söhne GmbH & Co. KG, is a steel construction company and roller coaster manufacturer. Founded in 1876 in Munich, Germany, the company has built many styles of steel buildings, ranging from bridges, industrial buildings, and even art structures. While known for building a variety of Wild Mouse, wild mouse coasters, its subsidiary Maurer Rides GmbH has branched out into spinning, looping, and launching coasters. The company also produces a free-fall tower ride. On December 15, 2014, the company changed its name to Maurer AG. Roller coaster work In 1993, Maurer took over the amusement ride division of a fellow German firm, BHS. BHS constructed four Anton Schwarzkopf, Schwarzkopf-designed roller coasters, working with Sansei Yusoki and Zierer in the process. Farmington, Utah
Farmington is a city in Davis County, Utah, United States. The population was 24,531 at the 2020 census. The Lagoon Amusement Park and Station Park transit-oriented retail center (which includes a FrontRunner train station) are located in Farmington. History The region that is now Farmington was settled in 1847 by the Haight family, a Mormon pioneer family that established a farm and an inn. Five more pioneering families migrated to this region in the autumn of 1849. The region developed into an undefined community originally called North Cottonwood Settlement. In 1852, the territorial legislature picked North Cottonwood as the county seat and officially named it Farmington. Following orders from Daniel H.
