Spider-Man Live! - A Stunt Spectacular was the first full-length, live-action stage show based on the Marvel comic book character, Spider-Man, to appear in the United States. Written and directed by Kevin Shinick and produced by Ultimate Shows & Entertainment and Marvel Enterprises, Inc, the show combined state of the art flying illusions, acrobatic and trapeze stunts, pyrotechnics and multimedia special effects into a theatrical production that embarked on a 40 city U.S. tour from 2002 - 2003. Plot The show portrays Spider-Man's history from the day that he gets bitten by the radioactive spider and throughout his high school years and relationship with Mary Jane Watson. By the end he has to save her from the Green Goblin. The Green Goblin is the alias of several supervillains appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The first and best-known incarnation Norman Osborn, created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko, is generally regarded as one of the archenemies of the superhero Spider-Man, along with Doctor Octopus and Venom. Originally a manifestation of chemically induced insanity, others such as Harry Osborn would take on the persona. The Green Goblin is a Halloween-themed supervillain whose weapons resemble bats, ghosts, and jack-o'-lanterns and in most incarnations uses a hoverboard or glider to fly. Spider-Man's wedding at Shea Stadium in 1987 was a publicity stunt and live performance adaptation of the comic book storyline " The Wedding!" produced by Marvel Comics. The event was meant to advertise the special issue of ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' comic book, which went on sale the next Tuesday and took place at home plate in front of more than 45,000 fans just before the New York Mets played the Pittsburgh Pirates.
