Anthony "Old Man" Spero (February 18, 1929 – September 29, 2008) was an Italian-American mobster who rose to the position of consigliere and acting boss of the Bonanno crime family. Biography "Spero was a large man with dark hair, a dark complexion and was good looking in a rough way" Philip Carlo wrote. "He was fair, smart, and exceedingly well versed in the ways of the street". According to the testimony of boss-turned-informant Joe Massino, Anthony Spero was inducted into the Bonanno crime family by Carmine Galante on June 14, 1977. David Spero was a rock-radio pioneer in the 1970s and is a high-profile music manager and owner of the Cleveland office of Alliance Artists Ltd. Radio DJ At the age of 13, before beginning his career as a DJ at WXEN (now WHLK), WNCR (now WGAR-FM), WMMS, M105-FM (now WMJI), and WNCX, Spero worked as a cue card holder on '' The Upbeat Show'' which his father, Herman Spero, produced. At 15, Spero was helping to set the order of songs as a co-writer and assistant producer of the show. Donald M. "Don" Spero (born August 9, 1939) is an American physicist, venture capitalist, and a former U.S. and world champion rower who competed at the 1964 Summer Olympics and won the single sculls 1966 World Rowing Championships. He also won a gold medal at the 1961 Maccabiah Games in the coxed four, and won the 1963 and 1964 U.S. national championships. Emji Saint Spero is a trans queer writer and performance artist living in Los Angeles, California. Their practice occupies a hybrid space between poetry and prose. They are a member of curbAlert, a performance duo with J Shelley Harrison, since 2018. They co-founded the Oakland-based Timeless, Infinite Light with Joel Gregory. (George) Ernest Spero, later Spears, (2 March 1894 – 7 January 1960 ''or'' June 1976) was a British physician, writer, journalist, businessman and politician. He served as a Liberal MP in 1923–24, and a Labour MP from 1929–30, when he resigned his seat ahead of a court case and bankruptcy proceedings. He left the country for the United States, where he changed his name and became a naturalised citizen, practising as an ophthalmologist. Spero was born in 1894 in Dover to Isidore Spero, a Jewish immigrant from Russia, and his wife Rachel. Greg Spero (born February 22, 1985) is an American pianist from Highland Park, Illinois. He has toured with Halsey and the Miles Electric Band and has composed music for film and television. He leads the jazz band Spirit Fingers. He also runs a label called Tiny Room, which runs live streamed sessions from its studio in Los Angeles and has been featured on NPR Live Sessions. Nancy Spero (August 24, 1926 – October 18, 2009) was an American visual artist. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Spero lived for much of her life in New York City. She married and collaborated with artist Leon Golub. As both artist and activist, Nancy Spero had a career that spanned fifty years. He served in Benin's government as Minister of Information in 1963 and as Minister of Culture between 1965 and 1968.
