Spencer Coggs
G. Spencer Coggs (born August 6, 1949) is an American public administrator and Democratic politician. He is the current Milwaukee City Treasurer, since April 2012. He previously served 10 years in the Wisconsin State Senate and 20 years in the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing Milwaukee's west side. Early life, education and career Coggs was a City of Milwaukee health officer (and Chief Steward of his AFSCME union local), postal worker and industrial printer. Wisconsin legislature Coggs was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly for what was then the 10th district in 1982 and reelected until 2002. During his time in the assembly he was the Majority Caucus Vice Chairperson in 1985, 1987 and 1989. He was elected in 2003 to the state senate in a special election and reelected in 2004 and 2008. Wisconsin Senate, District 6
The 6th Senate District of Wisconsin is one of 33 districts in the Wisconsin State Senate. Located in southeast Wisconsin, the district is contained in north-central Milwaukee County. It includes parts of north, west, and downtown Milwaukee, as well as eastern Wauwatosa. It contains landmarks such as the Marquette University campus, Fiserv Forum, the Milwaukee Public Museum, historic Holy Cross Cemetery, and the Miller Brewing Company. Barbara Lawton
Barbara Lawton (born July 5, 1951) is an American businesswoman and politician from Green Bay, Wisconsin who is the President and CEO of Americans for Campaign Reform. A member of the Democratic Party, Lawton was the 43rd Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin. She became the first woman elected to the position in 2002, as the running mate of former Democratic Governor Jim Doyle. Lawton was re-elected on November 7, 2006. She was co-founder and Director of External Affairs for Issue One, a nonprofit whose goal is to reduce the influence of money in politics.
