Spelthorne Sports F.C. is a football club based in the borough of Spelthorne. They play in the . History Spelthorne Sports Football Club, nicknamed The Spelly, was formed in 1922. The team won the Surrey Elite Intermediate League in the 2010–11 season, gaining promotion to Division One of the Combined Counties League. As well as winning the Surrey Elite Intermediate League title in 2011, the club also won the League Challenge Cup, beating Ripley F.C. in the final. In 2013–14 The Spelly won the Middlesex FA Intermediate Cup, beating Middlesex County Premier side Cricklewood Wanderers 3–0 in the Final. Second half goals from Robert Smith (2), and Lee Staples ensured the victory. The match played at North Greenford United on 26 March 2014. On 16 April 2014, Spelthorne Sports were crowned Combined Counties Division One Champions with a 2–1 win away to Epsom Athletic. Ashford, Middlesex
Ashford is a town almost wholly in the Borough of Spelthorne, Surrey, with a small area contained within the boundaries of the London Borough of Hounslow, approximately west-southwest of central London. Its name derives from a crossing point of the River Ash, a distributary of the River Colne. Historically part of Middlesex, the town's wards have been part of Surrey County Council since 1965. Ashford consists of relatively low density low- and medium-rise buildings, none of them being high rise. Surrey Elite Intermediate League
The Surrey Premier County Football League is a regional English football league for teams in South-West London, Surrey and neighbouring areas. It was founded in 2008. The league is at the 11th level of the English football league system and was incorporated into the National League System as a Step 7 league by the Football Association in June 2012. It has a division for first teams and a reserve division. The league was formed to bridge the gap between local intermediate leagues and the lower division of the Combined Counties League. The 2018–19 Buildbase FA Vase is the 45th season of the FA Vase, an annual football competition for teams playing below Step 4 of the English National League System. The competition is to be played with two qualifying rounds preceding the six proper rounds, semi-finals (played over two legs) and final to be played at Wembley Stadium. All first-leg ties until the semi-finals are played with extra time if drawn after regulation – first-leg ties may also be resolved with penalties if both teams agree and notify the referee at least 45 minutes before kick-off. National League System
The National League System comprises the six levels of the English football league system immediately below the level of the English Football League. It comes under the jurisdiction of The Football Association. The National League System has a hierarchical format with promotion and relegation between leagues at different levels.
