Rearwin Speedster
The Rearwin Speedster was a two-seat, high-wing, sport aircraft produced by Rearwin Airplanes Inc. in the United States in the 1930s. Development Design of the Speedster started in 1933 as sales of the Rearwin Ken-Royce and Junior began to flag in response to the Great Depression. While the previous aircraft had been built by "Rearwin Airplanes," a joint venture between Rae Rearwin and an investor, the Speedster was built by Rearwin's newly formed company "Rearwin Aircraft." Rearwin had negotiated the use of Rearwin Airplane's equipment and property from his investor since it was being underutilized during the Great Depression. The initial design work proceeded smoothly, with first flight of the prototype occurring on July 11, 1934. The Auburn Speedster was an American car, manufactured by the Auburn Automobile Company of Auburn, Indiana and manufactured in Union City, Indiana. A total of 887 cars were manufactured between 1928 and 1936, across 3 series (1928-1930 with "eight" and "big eight" engines, the V12 series from 1931 to 1934, and the dramatic, iconic 1935-36 Supercharged 8 ). The Opel Speedster is a mid-engined, targa-topped, two-seat sports car sold by German automaker Opel and introduced in July 2000. It was built in both RHD and LHD versions at the Lotus Cars plant in Hethel, Norfolk, England. It was presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1999 and went into full production the following year. It was sold by Vauxhall as the VX220 in the United Kingdom and shared much in common with the Lotus Elise, although Opel claimed few parts were interchangeable. The Studebaker Speedster was an automobile produced by the Studebaker Corporation of South Bend, Indiana during the 1955 model year. The vehicle was considered Studebaker's halo model for the 1955 season. Studebaker had previously used the Speedster name in the early 1920s, and was a marketing strategy revival of the President during that time. Description The Speedster was a member of the President series, and was based on President hardtop coupe. For 1955, the company heavily restyled its models to incorporate a larger front bumper and a massive chrome grille more in keeping with American cars of the era. Pierre Terblanche
Pierre Terblanche is a South African motorcycle designer born on 6 November 1956 in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape. He started his career in advertising but felt the need to move into the design world. After moving to Germany and working with Volkswagen design, he worked at Cagiva's research center at San Marino under the direction of Massimo Tamburini. When Cagiva decided to sell Ducati to US-based TPG Capital, L.P., Texas Pacific Group, Pierre Terblanche chose to follow Ducati. In December 2007, he left Ducati to pursue other interests, believing that he should be a designer and not a manager. Subsequently, Pierre Terblanche worked for Piaggio on the Moto Guzzi and other brands, along with former colleague Miguel Angel Galluzzi, who designed the Ducati Monster. Terblanche left Piaggio to join Norton Motorcycle Company in January 2011.
