Richmond Olympic Oval
The Richmond Olympic Oval (french: Anneau olympique de Richmond) is an indoor multi-sports arena in the Canadian city of Richmond, British Columbia. The oval was built for the 2010 Winter Olympics and was originally configured with a speed skating rink. The venue has since been reconfigured and now serves as a community multi-sport park and includes two ice hockey rinks, two running tracks, a climbing wall, a rowing tank and a flexible area which can be used for, among other sports, basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer and table tennis. The Olympic bid called for the oval to be located on the grounds of Simon Fraser University (SFU) in Burnaby, but Richmond was instead selected in 2004. Although twice the price of the SFU alternative, the location was selected because the city offered to cover all costs exceeding $60 million. Yekaterina Vladimirovna Shikhova (russian: Екатерина Владимировна Шихова; born 25 June 1985) is a Russian Speed skating, speed skater. She won a team bronze medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and an individual allround bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships. Miho Takagi (speed Skater)
is a Japanese speed skater. She has won a total of seven medals at the Olympics, two of them gold. Career At the age of 15, Takagi represented Japan at the 2010 Winter Olympics, finishing 35th in the women's 1000 metres and 23rd in the 1500 metres. In 2012 and 2013, she won the World Junior Speed Skating Championships. After participating in several world cup and world championship events, she became a world champion when in the 2015 World Single Distance Championships she won the gold medal in the team pursuit where she participated together with her sister Nana Takagi and compatriot Ayaka Kikuchi. Maki Tabata
is a Japanese speed skater and track cyclist. Maki Tabata won bronze at the World Allround Championships in 2000 and one month later, she won another bronze, this time on the 3000 m at the World Single Distance Championships. The next year (2001), she won silver on the 1500 m and bronze on the 5000 m at the World Single Distance Championships. In 2003, she won another World Single Distance silver on the 1500 m. In addition, Tabata has won numerous titles and medals at the Asian Championships that are used to qualify for the World Allround Championships, at the Asian Single Distance Championships, and at Japanese Championships (both in Allround and Single Distance). Jennifer Rodriguez
Jennifer Rodriguez (born June 8, 1976) is a Cuban-American speed skater. She started her career as an artistic roller skater, winning multiple national championships and placing second and third at world championships. Later she switched to inline speed skating and became world champion in 1993. Her inline speed coach was Bob Manning. In 1996 she made another career move by giving it a try on ice, in order to have a chance to make the Olympic team. This was a success, and she participated in the 1998, 2002, 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics, winning two bronze medals in Salt Lake City in 2002. She is also known by the nicknames Miami Ice and J-Rod. Heather Bergsma (''née'' Richardson; born March 20, 1989) is an American former speed skater who competed between 2006 and 2020. Career Bergsma is a native of North Carolina. She represented the United States at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, where she finished 6th in 500 metres, 9th in the 1000 metres, and 16th in the 1500 metres. At the 2011 World Single Distance Championships in Inzell, Germany, she won a bronze medal in the 1000 metres. She also placed 8th in the 500 metres, and was part of the team pursuit team that finished in 8th place. On January 26–27, 2013, Bergsma won the gold medal at the 2013 World Sprint Championships in Salt Lake City, United States. Katarzyna Anna Bachleda-Curuś (née Wójcicka, born 1 January 1980) is a Polish speed skater, who was born in Sanok and resides in Zakopane. Wójcicka is specialised in allround championships as she performs well on all distances, but almost never finishes among the best on a single distance. In Poland she is however one of the best skaters they ever had and she already won fifteen national titles. In 2005, she made a lot of progression and became twelfth at the European Allround Championships and fourteenth at the World Allround Championships. Hege Bøkko (; born 5 September 1991) is a Norwegian long-track speedskater, and the younger sister of Håvard Bøkko. Personal life Hege was born in Hønefoss in Buskerud county, Norway in 1991, but she has been living in Hovet, Buskerud her whole life. She has two older brothers, amongst them is Håvard Bøkko.
