''Speed Wild'' is a 1925 American silent action film directed by Harry Garson and starring Maurice 'Lefty' Flynn, Ethel Shannon Ethel Shannon (May 22, 1898 – July 10, 1951) was an American actress. Plot As described in a film magazine review, Jack Ames joins the police force after getting a reputation for racing, and beating, motorcycle riding coppers. His fiancée, Mary Bryant, is wooed by Wendell Martin, the brains of a gang of smugglers. Mary's brother Charles is also an involuntary member of the gang. When Mary is thrown in front of a train in an automobile crash, Jack rescues her. He then saves her brother from the vengeance of the smugglers. Harry Garson (1882 – September 21, 1938) was an American film director and producer. He directed 29 films between 1920 and 1934, and produced 11 films before that. He was born in Rochester, New York and died in Los Angeles, California. Fred Burns (actor)
Fred Burns (April 24, 1878 – July 18, 1955) was an American actor who mainly appeared in Western films. He appeared in over 265 films before his death in 1955. Biography Fred Burns was born on April 24, 1878, in Fort Keogh, Montana. For six years, he was in charge of Buffalo Bill Cody's ranch near Cheyenne, Wyoming. He " broke" wild mustangs for Buffalo Bill's Wild West Show. He traveled with Buffalo Bill's Wild West show, and later with the 101 Ranch Wild West Show. Burns was a roping champion for five years in the early 1900s. By 1916, he had moved to Hollywood to work in movies full-time. He appeared in 23 movies between 1921 and 1930, and 91 movies during the sound era. He also was in charge of the stock at Fine Arts Studios. Burns died in Los Angeles, California, on July 18, 1955, at age 77.
