Spears School Of Business
The Spears School of Business (or Spears Business) is the business component of Oklahoma State University. Located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Spears Business is composed of eight academic departments with more than 100 tenure and tenure-track educational professionals. In 2020, the college’s student body was made up of 5,050 undergraduate students pursuing and approximately 800 graduate students. Spears Business also offers several Ph.D. programs, including business administration, economics and business for executives. Academic programs at the Spears School are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business since 1958. Charles Watson is the founder of The Natural Gas Clearinghouse. Later renamed Dynegy, the firm was a highly diverse energy trading company that was similar to rival Enron in many respects. Watson attempted to orchestrate a buyout of Enron in late 2001, but withdrew following the restating of Enron's financials. At one time this was the 11th to the largest corporation on the Fortune 500. Watson left Dynegy in late 2002 when Dynegy's own finances took a turn for the worse amid allegations of accounting frauds, misconduct in the California energy crises and other serious problems. James Timothy DuBois (born May 4, 1948 is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Nashville-based songwriter and recording industry executive who has headed both Arista Records (Nashville Division) and Universal South Records. Neal L. Patterson (December 10, 1949 – July 9, 2017) was an American businessman who was CEO of Cerner Corporation, a Kansas City-based medical software corporation. Patterson was also owner of the Sporting Kansas City soccer team.
