Spazchow
Spazchow is the title of the second album of American comedy rock group Barnes & Barnes, originally released in 1981 by Rhino Records and re-released in 1997 by Oglio Records. Origins The title means "born to suffer at the hands of women and make music" (revealed when the first track, "Intro", is played backward) in the duo's artificial language of Lumanian. The theme of "suffering at the hands of women" is present throughout many of the tracks on the album, giving it a slightly more serious tone than their first album, '' Voobaha''. Many of the songs are connected by themed "links" that tie the album together, and for the 1997 release the links were given titles (or "links") for the album's reissue, and some were created for the album's bonus music. Barnes & Barnes
Barnes & Barnes are an American musical duo, formed in Los Angeles in 1970. Though commonly associated with novelty music and comedy rock, their music has also incorporated elements of new wave, synth-pop, and folk rock. The duo formed in 1970 by high school classmates Bill Mumy and Robert Haimer, originally as a private home recording project. By 1978, Barnes & Barnes had gained public recognition with the radio debut of their novelty song " Fish Heads," on the U.S. nationally syndicated '' Dr. Demento Show''. When recording or performing as Barnes & Barnes, Mumy and Haimer adopt the personae of Art Barnes and Artie Barnes, respectively; twin brothers from the fictional civilization of Lumania, existing in an alternate dimension complete with its own language and customs. Oglio Records
Oglio Records is an American record company started in 1993 by Carl Caprioglio. The label issues compilations of rare 1980s modern rock and new wave songs, many previously unreleased on CD. In addition to releasing new material by artists such as BigBang, Nerf Herder and Wesley Willis, the label has also re-released albums by artists such as Brian Wilson and Barnes & Barnes. Oglio Entertainment has also released stand-up comedy CDs by the likes of Jackie Martling and George Lopez. History The founder of Oglio Records, Carl Caprioglio, has stated that as a youth he was influenced by both the rock playing on Los Angeles radio stations KMET and KLOS and the modern rock of KROQ. ''Voobaha'' is the debut album by novelty rock group Barnes & Barnes. It was originally released in 1978 by Rhino Records, reissued in 1996 by Oglio Records, and reissued again in 2006 by Collector's Choice. Its title means "greetings" in the band's artificial language of Lumanian.
