Spanish Socialist Workers' Party Of Andalusia
The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party of Andalusia ( es, link=no, Partido Socialista Obrero Español de Andalucía, PSOE–A) is the Andalusian branch of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party, as well as the largest and most important federation within the PSOE. Formerly known as the Andalusian Socialist Federation (FSA), it was founded in 1977. The party was the ruling party of Andalusia uninterruptedly from 1978 to 2019, having won all regional elections in that time except for the 2012 election, after which it nonetheless was able to maintain the regional government through a coalition with United Left. It lost power for the first time after the 2018 election, when a PP- Cs coalition was formed. In the 2022 election, it worsened its already worst result ever. 2018 Andalusian Regional Election
The 2018 Andalusian regional election was held on Sunday, 2 December 2018, to elect the 11th Parliament of the autonomous community of Andalusia. All 109 seats in the Parliament were up for election. As a result of the previous election, the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party of Andalusia (PSOE–A) was able to retain power after obtaining confidence and supply support from Citizens (Cs), with such alliance enduring President Susana Díaz's defeat in the 2017 PSOE leadership election. The PSOE–Cs agreement broke up in September 2018 after Cs withdrew their support from Díaz's government, prompting Díaz to announce the Parliament's dissolution on 8 October and call a snap election for 2 December 2018. Registered turnout was the second lowest in any Andalusian regional election, only behind that of 1990. 1986 Andalusian Regional Election
The 1986 Andalusian regional election was held on Sunday, 22 June 1986, to elect the 2nd Parliament of Andalusia, Parliament of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Andalusia. All 109 seats in the Parliament were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with the 1986 Spanish general election. The former president of the Regional Government of Andalusia Rafael Escuredo had been replaced in the post by José Rodríguez de la Borbolla in March 1984. 1982 Andalusian Regional Election
The 1982 Andalusian regional election was held on Sunday, 23 May 1982, to elect the 1st Parliament of Andalusia, Parliament of the Autonomous communities of Spain, autonomous community of Andalusia. All 109 seats in the Parliament were up for election. The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party of Andalusia (PSOE–A) under incumbent regional president Rafael Escuredo won a landslide victory with 66 seats and 52.6% of the share, the best result obtained by any party in an Andalusian regional election to date. Susana Díaz
Susana Díaz Pacheco (; born 18 October 1974, Seville, Spain) is a Spanish politician from Andalusia and a leading figure in the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) as the former leader of the Andalusian PSOE-A. She served as the President of Andalusia until January 2019, having acceded to the presidency following José Antonio Griñán's resignation in 2013, and was subsequently re-elected in Andalusia's 2015 regional election. Until July 2021, she served as the Secretary-General of the Andalusian branch of PSOE. From 2016 she combined her regional roles with aspirations to the national leadership of the party. Manuel Chaves González (born 7 July 1945 in Ceuta) is a Spanish politician who served as Third Deputy Prime Minister of Spain from 2009 to 2011 and Second Deputy Prime Minister of Spain in 2011. Plácido Fernández Viagas (29 March 1924 in Tangier – 8 December 1982 in Madrid) was a Spanish politician and judge, member of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party of Andalusia, who was President of the pre-autonomous government of Andalusia between 1978 and 1979. Biography He was born on March 29, 1924 in Tangier, this city being administered by a treaty that made it an International Zone. 2022 Andalusian Regional Election
The 2022 Andalusian regional election will be held during the year 2022, to elect the 12th Parliament of the autonomous community of Andalusia. All 109 seats in the Parliament will be up for election. The 2018 election resulted in the first majority for right-of-centre parties in Andalusia in 36 years, paving the way for an alternative government to the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party of Andalusia (PSOE–A) despite the party remaining the most voted political force in the region. As a result, Juan Manuel Moreno of the People's Party (PP) unseated PSOE's Susana Díaz as regional president, forming a coalition with Citizens (Cs), with confidence and supply from the far-right Vox party.
