Spanish Senior Open
The Spanish Senior Open was a golf tournament on the over fifties men's professional European Seniors Tour. It was first played in 1994, which was the tour's third season, at La Manga Club in Murcia but was cancelled after one year. The tournament was revived in 2005 and played at the Club de Campo del Mediterráneo near Castellón de la Plana Castellón de la Plana (officially in ca-valencia, Castelló de la Plana), or simply Castellón ( ca-valencia, Castelló, link=no) is the capital city of the province of Castellón, in the Valencian Community, Spain. David Snell (golfer)
David Snell (10 October 1933 – July 2021) was an English professional golfer who won the 1959 News of the World Matchplay, the British matchplay championship. Despite this win he was not selected for the British 1959 Ryder Cup team. Professional career Snell was an assistant professional at Lindrick Golf Club before becoming the professional at Worksop Golf Club in the mid-1950. Snell won the News of the World Matchplay in September 1959 at Royal Birkdale. He beat the defending champion, Harry Weetman, 3 & 2 in the 36-hole final, taking the first prize of £750. Seven members of the British team for the 1959 Ryder Cup were selected from a points system based on performances during the early part of the 1959 season, ending with Irish Hospitals Tournament finishing on 12 July. Malcolm Gregson
Malcolm Edward Gregson (born 15 August 1943) is an English professional golfer. After a promising start to his career as an amateur and assistant professional, he had one exceptional year, 1967, when he won the Harry Vardon Trophy and played in the Ryder Cup, but had only limited success afterwards. After reaching 50 he played on the European Senior Tour, winning five times. Early life and amateur career Gregson was born in Leicester and educated at Millfield School in Somerset from 1957 to 1960. Brian George Charles Huggett, (born 18 November 1936) is a Welsh professional golfer. He won sixteen events on the European circuit, including two after the formal start of the European Tour in 1972. In 1968 he won the Harry Vardon Trophy for leading the Order of Merit. He played in the Ryder Cup six times and was a non-playing captain. He also won 10 times on the European Seniors Tour between 1992 and 2000, including the 1998 Senior British Open. José Rivero
José Rivero (born 20 September 1955) is a Spanish professional golfer. Career He started his golf career as a caddie and turned professional in 1973. He was a full member of the European Tour from 1983 to 2001 and he won four European Tour events. He made the top fifteen on the Order of Merit five times, including a best of tenth in 1988. Rivero was a member of the first two winning European Ryder Cup teams after the inclusion of Continental European players, at The Belfry in 1985 and Muirfield Village in 1987. He represented Spain in the Alfred Dunhill Cup and the World Cup on many occasions, winning the latter in 1984 in partnership with José María Cañizares. Robert McLean Boyd Jr. (July 29, 1955 – February 21, 2011) was an American professional golfer. Career Boyd was born in Mount Olive, North Carolina.
