Spanish Episcopal Conference
The Spanish Episcopal Conference ( es, Conferencia Episcopal Española, ca, Conferència Episcopal Espanyola) is an administrative institution composed of all the bishops of the dioceses of Spain and Andorra, in communion with the Roman Pontiff and under his authority. Its purpose is the joint exercise certain pastoral functions of the episcopate on the faithful of their territory, under common law and statutes, in order to promote the life of the Church, to strengthen its mission of evangelization and respond more effectively to the greater good that the Church should seek to men. Carlos Osoro Sierra
Carlos Osoro Sierra (; born 16 May 1945) is a Spanish Roman Catholic prelate who has served as Archbishop of Madrid since 2014 and been a cardinal since 2016. Life Osoro was born in Castañeda in northern Spain on 16 May 1945. He studied at the Escuela Normal and taught for a year in Santander. He then entered the seminary for adult vocations in Salamanca, earning licentiates in theology and philosophy at the Pontifical University of Salamanca. He later obtained a licentiate in Exact Sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid and another in pedagogy from the University of Salamanca. Antonio Cañizares Llovera (; born 15 October 1945) is a Spanish cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church who was the Archbishop of Valencia from 2014 to 2022. He was prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments from 2008 to 2014, and archbishop of Toledo and Primate of Spain from 2002 to 2008. He was made a cardinal in 2006. Ricardo María Carles Gordó (24 September 1926 – 17 December 2013) was a cardinal priest and Archbishop Emeritus of Barcelona in the Catholic Church. José María Cirarda Lachiondo (23 May 1917 – 17 September 2008) was a Spanish Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church. Lachiondo was born in Baquio, Spain and was ordained a priest on 5 July 1942. Lachiondo was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Seville as well as Titular Bishop of Drusiliana on 9 April 1960 and ordained a bishop on 29 June 1960. He was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Santander on 22 July 1968 and then the Diocese of Córdoba in Spain on 3 December 1971.
