Spain Men's National Handball Team
The Spain national handball team is governed by the Royal Spanish Handball Federation. Spain is one of the most successful handball teams in the world, having won two IHF World Men's Handball Championship, World Championships and being the reigning 2018 European Men's Handball Championship, European Champions. They are also the only team, besides Sweden, to have successfully defended a European Championship title, having won in 2018 and 2020. As of January 2021, they are reigning double defending European Champions. The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 28 sports and 302 events, one event more than those scheduled for the 2004 Summer Olympics. Handball At The 1936 Summer Olympics
Field handball at the 1936 Summer Olympics was the first appearance of the sport at the Olympics. It was contested by six teams. Games were played outdoors with 11 players on each side. The six teams were split into two groups of three. Each team played each other within each group. The top two teams in each group advanced to the final round, while the third-ranked teams played each other for fifth and sixth places. In the final round, each team played each other. 2014 European Men's Handball Championship
The 2014 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the 11th edition of the tournament and held in Denmark from 12–26 January. Hungary/Croatia (jointly) were the other applicants for the championship. Denmark was awarded the championship on the European Handball Federation, EHF Congress in Copenhagen 25 September 2010 with 24 votes. Hungary/Croatia got 22 votes. The 2016 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the twelfth edition and was held for the first time in Poland from 15–31 January 2016. 2021 World Men's Handball Championship
The 2021 IHF World Men's Handball Championship was the 27th event hosted by the International Handball Federation and held in Egypt from 13 to 31 January 2021. Starting with this edition, the World Championship was expanded from 24 teams to 32. It was also the third World Championship hosted in Africa, the second in Egypt, and the first to be hosted outside of Europe since 2015. Denmark were the defending champions, having won their first World Championship title in 2019 on home soil.
