Spain Women's National Ice Hockey Team
The Spain women's national ice hockey team represents Spain at the International Ice Hockey Federation's IIHF World Women's Championships. The women's national team is controlled by Spanish Ice Sports Federation. As of 2011, Spain has 63 female players. The ''Selección Nacional Femenina de Hockey'' is ranked 35th in the world. History The ''Selección Nacional Femenina de Hockey'' had their debut at an international event at Cergy in France, where they lost the event's opening match on 21 May 2009 against a Bavarian selection, with a score of 1–10. They also celebrated their first victory on the same day, beating the Lady Panthers Grefrath 4–0. Their first match against another national team at that event was their match against Belgium on 22 May 2009, which they lost 1–3. The 2022 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II were two international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The 2021 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II was scheduled to be two international ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division II Group A tournament would have been held in Jaca, Spain, from 10 to 16 April 2021 and the Division II Group B tournament in Zagreb, Croatia, from 7 to 13 March 2021. In 2020, Australia was initially promoted but after Division II Group A was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they remain in Division II Group B. The 2014 IIHF Women's World Championship Division II was an ice hockey competition consisting of three tournaments. The Division II Group A tournament was played in Asiago, Italy, from 6 to 12 April 2014. The Division II Group B was played from 24 to 30 March 2014 in Reykjavík, Iceland. The qualification tournament was held in Mexico City, Mexico, from 19 to 22 March 2014. The winners of Division II Group A were promoted to the Division I Group B for the 2015 championship, while the last-placed team was relegated to the Division II Group B. The Group B winners moved up to Group A, while the last placed team was relegated to the 2015 Division II Group B Qualification.
