''Soy Como Quiero Ser'' is the fifth studio album recorded by Mexican singer Luis Miguel and his first album to be released by WEA Latina on July 15, 1987 (see 1987 in music). The album was subtitled ''"Luis Miguel '87: Soy Como Quiero Ser"''. The singers Laura Branigan and Rocío Banquells appear on two of the album's tracks. The majority of the songs included are covers from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. In 1988, ''Soy Como Quiero Ser'' received a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album in the 30th Annual Grammy Awards, losing to ''Un Hombre Solo'' by Julio Iglesias. Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri (born 19 April 1970) is a Puerto Rican-born Mexican singer, often referred to as ''El Sol de México'' (The Sun of Mexico), which is the nickname his mother gave him as a child—"mi sol". Michael Edwin Hawker (29 November 1936 – 4 May 2014) was an English songwriter. Biography Born in Bath, Somerset, he lived as a child in Singapore, where his father was stationed in the Royal Air Force, before returning to settle with relatives in Barnsley, Yorkshire. After attending university, he spent time with the RAF in Europe, and started writing concert reviews of American jazz musicians, which he submitted to such magazines as the '' New Musical Express'' and ''Jazz Journal''. He started working in the publicity department at EMI in the late 1950s, and then moved into promotion work with Larry Parnes. Brian Holland (born February 15, 1941) is an American songwriter and record producer, best known as a member of Holland–Dozier–Holland, the songwriting and production team that was responsible for much of the Motown sound, and numerous hit records by artists such as Martha and the Vandellas, The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Isley Brothers. Edward Holland Jr. (born October 30, 1939) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Holland was born in Detroit, Michigan, United States.
