Illinois High School Association
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) is an association that regulates competition of interscholastic sports and some interscholastic activities at the high school level for the state of Illinois. It is a charter member of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The IHSA regulates 14 sports for boys, 15 sports for girls, and eight co-educational non-athletic activities. More than 760 public and private high schools in the state of Illinois are members of the IHSA. The Association's offices are in Bloomington, Illinois. In its over 100 years of existence, the IHSA has been at the center of many controversies. Collinsville High School (CHS) is a four-year public high school in the Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 in Illinois. In 2011, Collinsville High School had an enrollment of 1,985 students. Academics In 2015, 85% of the senior class graduated, posting an average ACT score of 20. Based on scores earned on the Prairie State Achievement Examination, Collinsville High School is not achieving Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in meeting the requirements of the federal No Child Left Behind Act. O'Fallon, Illinois
O'Fallon is a city in St. Clair County, Illinois, United States. The 2020 census listed the population at 32,289. The city is the second largest city in the Metro-East region and Southern Illinois. It sits from Scott Air Force Base and from Downtown St Louis. Like its namesake in St. Charles County, Missouri, O'Fallon is part of the St. Louis Metropolitan Statistical Area. This makes O'Fallon (along with the two Troys in Illinois and Missouri) one of the few pairs of like-named municipalities to be part of the same MSA. History Founded in 1854, O'Fallon's namesake comes from Colonel John O'Fallon who was a wealthy gentleman from St. Louis. O'Fallon Township High School
O'Fallon Township High School is a public secondary school in O'Fallon, Illinois. In 2009, OTHS was ranked 49th out of the top 100 high schools in Illinois by the ''Chicago Sun Times''. As of 2020, it is the largest public high school in Illinois by enrollment outside of Chicago. History The first high school was founded in 1901 as a two-year school by William R. Edwardsville High School
Edwardsville Senior High School is a public high school located in Edwardsville, Illinois. History Edwardsville High School was first located on North Kansas Street in downtown Edwardsville. Due to the expansion of the town, a new high school was commissioned in 1921. Today, the first building is Columbus Elementary School. The second Edwardsville High School was completed in 1925, on 145 West Street. Rather than rebuild a bigger school, it was expanded over the years to meet the demands of the growing school district.
