The Southtowns (also known as the Buffalo Southtowns, the South Towns, or Southtown) is a region of Western New York, United States, that lies within the snowbelt or ski country. It includes the southern suburbs of Buffalo, New York. This is the common name for the southern part of Erie County, New York. Its most notable resident was United States President Millard Fillmore, whose former home is a National Historic Landmark. The region has numerous historic landmarks, especially in Springville and East Aurora. The ''Daily Southtown'' (formerly ''SouthtownStar'') is a newspaper of the Chicago, Illinois, United States metropolitan area that covers the south suburbs and the South Side neighborhoods of the city – a wide region known as the Chicago Southland. Rankin/Bass Animated Entertainment (founded and formerly known as Videocraft International, Ltd. and Rankin/Bass Productions, Inc.) was an American production company located in New York City, and known for its seasonal television specials, usually done in stop motion animation. ''The Year Without a Santa Claus'' is a 1974 stop motion animated Christmas television special produced by Rankin/Bass Productions. The story is based on Phyllis McGinley's 1956 book of the same name. It is narrated by Shirley Booth (her final acting credit before her retirement from acting) and starring the voices of Mickey Rooney, Dick Shawn, and George S. Irving. It was originally broadcast on December 10, 1974, on ABC. Plot Santa Claus wakes up with a cold sometime before Christmas in the early 20th century. It was the second fighting game franchise created by SNK, following the ''Fatal Fury'' series and is set in the same fictional universe as a prequel to the ''Fatal Fury'' series. Pleasureville, Kentucky
Pleasureville is a home rule-class city in Henry and Shelby counties, Kentucky, United States. The population was 834 at the time of the 2010 U.S. Census. History In 1784, 30-odd Dutch Huguenot families colonizing present-day Mercer County purchased from Squire Boone. They erected a fort for their protection about east of present-day north Pleasureville. Their land was held and cultivated in common, but managed by Abraham Banta. It was variously known as "The Dutch Tract", the "Low Dutch Settlement" or "Station", and "Bantatown", but the post office was established as "Pleasureville" , and the city was incorporated under that name in 1842.
