Southside Charter High School, also known as Southside High School, is an accredited comprehensive public secondary school for students in grades 10 through 12, located in the city of Southside, Arkansas, a city in Independence County. The school is the sole high school managed by the Southside School District. The school is sometimes referenced as Southside Batesville to distinguish itself from the Fort Smith Southside High School and South Side (Bee Branch) High School. James Marvin Sturch (born December 8, 1990) is an American politician. He served as a Republican member for the 63rd district of the Arkansas House of Representatives and also the 19th district of the Arkansas Senate. Sturch was born in Batesville, Arkansas. He attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration. South Side High School is a public junior/senior high school for students in grades seven through twelve in Bee Branch, Arkansas, United States. In the 2010–11 school year, South Side High School had 207 students enrolled. The same facilities administered by South Side School District in Van Buren County are used for students in kindergarten through sixth grade and is known as South Side Elementary School. South Side High School is currently one of the smallest "single A" public schools in Arkansas since the 2009–10 statewide school consolidations. Southside provides secondary education for students in grades 9 through 12 and is one of two public high schools in Fort Smith, the other being Northside High School, both of which are administered by the Fort Smith School District.
