Southern Miss Golden Eagles Baseball
The Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team represents the University of Southern Mississippi in NCAA Division I college baseball. They participate as a member of the Sun Belt Conference. The team has been to 18 NCAA Tournaments and served as an NCAA Regional host in 2003, 2017, 2022 and NCAA Super Regional host in 2022. The Southern Miss baseball team has produced 19 All-Americans. and currently has 4 players on Major League rosters. Southern Miss has won six Conference USA Regular Season Championships (2003, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2018, 2022) and five Tournament Championships (2003, 2010, 2016, 2018,2019) and is the only team in CUSA to participate in every conference baseball tournament since the conference's inception. Sun Belt Conference
The Sun Belt Conference (SBC) is a collegiate athletic conference that has been affiliated with the NCAA's Division I since 1976. Originally a non-football conference, the Sun Belt began sponsoring football in 2001. Its football teams participate in the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The 14 member institutions of the Sun Belt are distributed primarily across the southern United States. Nick Sandlin
Nick Howard Sandlin (born January 10, 1997) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cleveland Guardians of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2021. Amateur career Sandlin - a sidearm style pitcher - attended Greenbrier High School in Evans, Georgia. He enrolled at the University of Southern Mississippi and played college baseball for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Kevin Stacey Young (born June 16, 1969) is an American former professional baseball player. He played 12 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1992–95, 1997–2003) and Kansas City Royals (1996), primarily as a first baseman. He batted and threw right-handed. Young was also the recipient of the Roberto Clemente Award in Pittsburgh. Florida Marlins
The Miami Marlins are an American professional baseball team based in Miami. The Marlins compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the National League (NL) East division. Patrick Leland Rapp (born July 13, 1967) is an American former professional baseball right-handed pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB). Early life and career Rapp was a student at Sulphur High School in Sulphur, Louisiana. After high school, Rapp attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 15th round of the 1989 amateur draft. Jarrett Lee Hoffpauir (born June 18, 1983) is an American former professional baseball second baseman. He is a distant cousin to Micah Hoffpauir, who is also a baseball player. Hoffpauir was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 6th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft from the University of Southern Mississippi following his junior year, during which he hit .405 with 92 RBI and was named to the All-Conference Tournament Team. James Brian Dozier (;born May 15, 1987) is an American former professional baseball second baseman. The Minnesota Twins selected Dozier in the eighth round of the 2009 Major League Baseball Draft.
