South Point is a village in Lawrence County, Ohio, United States, along the Ohio River. South Point straddles Perry Township and Fayette Township. The population was 3,958 at the 2010 census. South Point is a part of the Huntington- Ashland, WV- KY- OH, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). As of the 2000 census, the MSA had a population of 288,649. The village mayor is Jeff Gaskin, who was elected in November 2015. History A post office called South Point has been in operation since 1855 in Fayette Township. South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa (formerly South Coast) is a resort located along Las Vegas Boulevard in Enterprise, Nevada, south of the Las Vegas Strip. It is owned and operated by Michael Gaughan, the founder of Coast Casinos. It includes a casino and a 25-story hotel with 2,163 rooms. Coast Casinos purchased the site in 2001, and announced the South Coast project in April 2003. Construction began one year later. Coast Casinos was subsequently merged with Boyd Gaming. The South Coast was built at a cost of $625 million. It opened on December 22, 2005, and included an casino and 652 rooms. A second hotel tower opened the following year. South Point Lighthouse is a lighthouse located in the south of Barbados. Its height is . History It is the oldest lighthouse in Barbados. It was brought to Barbados in 1852, one year after being shown at London's Great Exhibition, and reassembled on the southernmost point of the island. Although still listed as active, the lighthouse is now considered to be more of a national landmark and tourist attraction, with its grounds (but not tower) being made open to the public. South Point is a higher-secondary co-educational private school located in Kolkata, West Bengal and affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education, consisting of three organisations – South Point School (Nursery to Class V), South Point High School (Classes VI to XII) and South Point Education Society (administrative authority).
