South Plantation High School is a four-year public high school located in the city of Plantation, Florida in the United States. SPHS is part of the Broward County Public Schools school district, which is the sixth-largest district in the nation with over 258,000 students enrolled as of the 2007/08 school year. The school was named a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 1982 and 1983. South Plantation had an FCAT school grade of "''A''" for the 2010–11 academic year. South Plantation High School operates an environmental science magnet program, which allows students living outside of the school's boundaries to attend. Demographics As of the 2021-22 school year, the total student enrollment was 2,275. Plantation is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 U.S. census, the population was 91,750. It is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area. Erin DiMeglio (born October 22, 1994) is a former high school football and basketball player, who attended the University of Central Florida. In 2012, Erin graduated from South Plantation High School, in Plantation, Florida. As a senior at her high school, Erin became the first female quarterback in Florida high school football history, as she was the third-string quarterback for the South Plantation High School football team during the 2012 season. On September 21, 2012, DiMeglio notched the first completed pass of her career, on her second attempt in the game. However, the play accounted for a loss of yardage, with the AP citing a 5-yard loss on the down and the ''South Florida Sun-Sentinel'' stating that it accounted for a 2-yard setback. Reginald Gene Cross (born August 12, 1966) is an American former professional basketball player. He played college basketball with the Miami Dade Sharks and the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. Cross was selected in the 1987 NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers but never played in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He instead played professionally in the American Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and in France, Spain and Turkey. Cross is the most recent player from the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors to be selected in an NBA draft. Alex Collins (born August 26, 1994) is an American football running back for the Memphis Showboats of the United States Football League (USFL). He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round, 171st overall, of the 2016 NFL Draft.
