South Korea Fed Cup Team
The South Korea Fed Cup team represents South Korea in Fed Cup tennis competition and are governed by the Korea Tennis Association. They currently compete in the Asia/Oceania Zone of Group I. History South Korea competed in its first Fed Cup in 1973. Their best result was qualifying for World Group II in 1997, and reaching the round of 16 on five occasions. Cho Yoon-jeong ( ko, 조윤정, born 2 April 1979) is a retired South Korean tennis player. In her career, she won one doubles title on the WTA Tour, at Seoul in 2004. Choi Young-ja
Choi Young-ja (born 30 May 1975) is a former professional tennis player from South Korea. Biography A right-handed player from Seoul, Choi began playing tennis at the age of 10. She won her first ITF tournament at Bangkok in 1993 and began touring professionally after graduating from high school in 1994. At the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta she made the second round of the singles competition, with a win over South Africa's Joannette Kruger, before she was eliminated by 11th seed Brenda Schultz-McCarthy of the Netherlands. Choi represented the South Korea Fed Cup team in a total of 16 ties. She was most successful in Fed Cup tennis as a doubles player, losing only one of her 12 matches. Choi Ju-yeon (born 19 November 1975) is a South Korean former tennis player, who competed on the professional tour in the 1990s. Biography Born in Busan, she reached a career-high of 176 in the world for singles, winning 12 ITF titles. She made the main draw of the WTA Tour tournament at Beijing in 1995, where she was beaten in the first round by Tessa Price in three sets. As a doubles player, she won three medals for South Korea in the Asian Games. At the 1994 Asian Games in Hiroshima, she won bronze medals in both the women's doubles and mixed doubles events.
