South East Stars
South East Stars are a women's cricket team that represent the London & South East region, one of eight regional hubs in English domestic women's cricket. They play their home matches at various grounds, including the County Cricket Ground, Beckenham. They are captained by Bryony Smith and coached by Johann Myburgh. The team carries over many elements of the WCSL team Surrey Stars, but are now partnered with both Surrey and Kent. The team won the inaugural Charlotte Edwards Cup, beating Northern Diamonds in the final. History In 2020, women's cricket in England was restructured, creating eight new 'regional hub' teams, with the intention of playing both 50-over and 20-over cricket. Alice Capsey
Alice Rose Capsey (born 11 August 2004) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Surrey, South East Stars, Oval Invincibles, Delhi Capitals and Melbourne Stars. An all-rounder, she is a right-handed batter and right-arm off break bowler. In 2021, Capsey was voted the inaugural PCA Women's Young Player of the Year. Capsey made her international debut for the England women's cricket team in July 2022. Early life Capsey was born on 11 August 2004 in Redhill, Surrey. She began playing cricket aged six, at Capel Cricket Club in Dorking. She is currently studying for her A-Levels. Aylish Cranstone
Aylish Cranstone (born 28 August 1994) is an English cricketer who currently plays for Surrey, South East Stars and Oval Invincibles. She plays as a left-handed batter. She has previously played for Hampshire and Devon, as well as playing in the Women's Cricket Super League for Surrey Stars and in The Hundred for London Spirit. Early life Cranstone was born on 28 August 1994 in Guildford, Surrey. She attended the University of Exeter. Domestic career Cranstone made her county debut in 2008, for Hampshire against Essex, scoring a duck. In 2009 she hit her maiden county half-century, scoring 75 against Derbyshire. She was one of Hampshire's top batters during her time there, for example hitting 78 * off 46 balls to complete a 9 wicket victory over Shropshire in 2010. Johann Myburgh
Johannes Gerhardus Myburgh (born 22 October 1980) is a former British-South African cricketer who played domestic cricket in England for Somerset County Cricket Club. A right-handed batsman and occasional off break bowler, Myburgh was also a talented fielder, and is the current holder of the record for the youngest scorer of a double-century in South African domestic cricket, breaking the record of Graeme Pollock in 1997 when aged 17. Though born in South Africa, he emigrated to New Zealand in 2007, where he planned to qualify for the national team. Myburgh has since abandoned his New Zealand ambitions and moved to the UK, where he has played for Hampshire and Durham. He joined his third English county, Somerset, in 2014. Jonathan Batty
Jonathan Neil Batty (born 18 April 1974) is an English former first-class cricketer who played for Surrey and Gloucestershire. Batty was educated at Repton School, St Chad's College, Durham University and Keble College, Oxford. On graduating from Durham University in 1995, Batty joined Hampshire. However, he was not retained. He continued his career on in minor county cricket before being offered contracts with Somerset and Surrey. He chose to become Surrey's third-choice wicket-keeper after Graham Kersey and Alec Stewart. Kersey, however, died from injuries in a car crash in Australia. With Stewart often unavailable to Surrey due to England duties, Batty was able to enjoy regular first team action, often opening the batting when Mark Butcher was also playing for England. Southern Vipers
The Southern Vipers are a women's cricket team that represent the South of England. The Vipers wear an orange and black kit and play their home matches at the Ageas Bowl and the County Cricket Ground, Hove. They are currently coached by former England Women's captain and former player Charlotte Edwards. The Southern Vipers are partnered with Hampshire, Sussex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Dorset, Oxfordshire and the Isle of Wight Cricket Board. The Vipers were originally formed in 2016 to compete in the Women's Cricket Super League, and won the inaugural competition, winning all but one of their group games, and then defeating Western Storm at the finals day held at Chelmsford by 7 wickets. It featured eight teams playing in a round-robin group, followed by a knock-out round. The holders were the Southern Vipers, who won the first two editions of the competition. It ran alongside the Charlotte Edwards Cup. The tournament was named after former England captain Rachael Heyhoe Flint, Baroness Heyhoe-Flint, who died in 2017. Northern Diamonds finished top of the group stage, qualifying directly for the final. South East Stars and Southern Vipers qualified for the play-off, which was won by Vipers to set up the third Vipers versus Diamonds final in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in its three years of existence. The 2022 Charlotte Edwards Cup was the second edition of the Charlotte Edwards Cup, an English women's cricket Women's Twenty20, Twenty20 domestic competition, which took place between 14 May and 11 June 2022. It featured eight teams playing in two round-robin tournament, double round-robin groups, followed by a Finals Day. The tournament ran alongside the 2022 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy. The tournament was named after former England captain Charlotte Edwards. Not Out
In cricket, a batter is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batter is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. Sophia Ivy Rose Dunkley (born 16 July 1998) is an English cricketer who plays for Surrey, South East Stars, Welsh Fire, Gujarat Giants and England. A right-handed batter and right-arm leg break bowler, she made her county debut in 2012 for Middlesex and her England debut in 2018, against Bangladesh at the 2018 ICC Women's World Twenty20.
