South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan And Program
The South East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program 2010–2031 (SEQIPP) is produced by the Queensland Department of Infrastructure and Planning and outlines estimated infrastructure investment across South East Queensland Australia to 2031. It represents a long-term commitment to infrastructure delivery in South East Queensland. In mid-2011, then Premier Anna Bligh announced the plan would be incorporated into a statewide infrastructure plan called the Queensland Infrastructure Plan. SEQIPP was first released in 2005 and is updated annually. It sets timeframes and budgets to ensure infrastructure is delivered to support the region’s growth. Eastern Busway
The Eastern Busway is a bus-only road running from the University of Queensland's St Lucia campus to Langlands Park busway station in Queensland, Australia. Development The Eastern Busway was built and opened in stages. The first section between the University of Queensland and the South East Busway opened in August 2009 and the Buranda to Main Avenue section in August 2011. UQ Lakes to Buranda section Construction began in April 2007 on the UQ Lakes to Buranda section with it opening on 3 August 2009. The UQ Lakes to Buranda section of the busway was built under an alliance with Thiess, Sinclair Knight Merz and the Department of Transport and Main Roads. TransApex
TransApex is a road transport plan devised by Brisbane Lord Mayor Campbell Newman in the early 2000s to connect existing motorways and major arterial roads with new transport links and divert cross-city traffic out of the Brisbane CBD. The plan is currently being delivered by Brisbane City Council at an estimated total cost of over $10 billion across five stages. The South East Queensland Regional Plan 2009-2031 (SEQRP 2009) is a statutory plan designed to guide regional growth and development in South East Queensland, Australia. It was established under the ''Integrated Planning Act 1997'', which has now been replaced by ''The Sustainable Planning Act 2009''. The population of South East Queensland (SEQ) is expected to grow from 2.8 million in 2006 to 4.4 million people by 2031. Traveston Crossing Dam
Traveston Crossing Dam was a proposed water project that was initiated by the state government of Queensland, Australia, in 2006 as a result of a prolonged drought which saw South-East Queensland's dam catchment area receive record-low rain. The project was cancelled in November 2009, after being refused approval by federal Environment Minister Peter Garrett. Planning The dam was proposed to stretch from the Traveston Crossing Bridge near Amamoor, 160 kilometres (99 miles) north of Brisbane, south and affect the areas surrounding Bergins Pocket and Kandanga. The dam would have affected major transport arteries through the area, including the North Coast Railway Line and the Bruce Highway. Western Corridor Recycled Water Project
The Western Corridor Recycled Water Scheme, a recycled water project, is located in the South East region of Queensland in Australia. The scheme is managed by Seqwater and forms a key part of the SEQ Water Grid constructed by the Queensland Government in response to population growth, climate change and severe drought. The 2.5 billion project is reported as the largest recycled water project in Australia. As of 2019, the scheme has been constructed and its performance has been validated. Darra Railway Station
Darra railway station is located on the Main line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Darra. History A stop at "nine miles forty four chain" from Central was established when the line between Ipswich and Brisbane was built in 1874. Service on the line were operating in 1875. No stops at the site were recorded in 1876 or 1877, probably because the stop was not staffed until the following year when passengers were first recorded at Darra station. The name Darra is most probably derived from a Scottish railway town as some of the engineers who were responsible for naming stops were Scottish. A siding at Darra was constructed in 1885 to enable the loading of firewood for Hicks & Gray. In 1954, four platforms were built at the station but only three were used. Corinda Railway Station
Corinda railway station is located on the Main line in Queensland, Australia. It serves the Brisbane suburb of Corinda. History Corinda station opened in 1875 as South Brisbane Junction, being renamed Corinda in 1888. In 1884, a branch line was built from Corinda to the South Brisbane wharves. The branch line is now known as the Corinda-Yeerongpilly line. The station was rebuilt in 1960 as part of the quadruplication of the line from Roma Street. In 2010, the quadruplication was extended to Darra as part of the construction of the Springfield line.
