South Carolina Highway 14 (SC 14) is a state highway in the U.S. state of South Carolina. The state highway runs from U.S. Route 76 Business (US 76 Bus.) in Laurens north to Interstate 26 (I-26) in Landrum. SC 14 connects Laurens and Landrum with Greer, the city between Greenville and Spartanburg where the highway crosses I-85 and US 29. The highway also parallels I-385 through Fountain Inn and Simpsonville, South Carolina in southeastern Greenville County. SC 14 is a part of the National Highway System between I-85 and US 29 in Greer. Route description SC 14 begins at an intersection with US 76 Business (Main Street) in the city of Laurens. The state highway heads north through the Laurens Historic District as Church Street, which starts as two lanes but expands to four lanes as it approaches US 76 (Hillcrest Drive). Laurens is a city in Laurens County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 9,139 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Laurens County. History Located in upstate South Carolina, the city of Laurens is named after Henry Laurens, a South Carolina merchant and rice planter who was one of America's wealthiest slave traders. He was a delegate to and second president of the Continental Congress and served as a diplomat. It is part of the Greenville– Mauldin– Easley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Laurens was established by an act of the General Assembly on March 15, 1785, as a location for commercial activities. South Carolina Highway 146 (SC 146) is a South Carolina state highway running through Central Greenville County and south-western Spartanburg County. Route description SC 146's western terminus is at Laurens Road (U.S. Route 276 or US 276), near the intersection of Interstates 85 (I-85) and 385. Its course then goes in a southeasterly direction where its eastern terminus is at its intersection with SC 56 near Cross Anchor. From its western terminus to its split from SC 417, SC 146 is known as Woodruff Road. From its split to the merger with SC 101, SC 146 is known as 3rd Street. Once SC 146/SC 101 merges with US 221 in Woodruff it is known as Main Street, then Laurens Road as it splits from SC 101. South Carolina Highway 296
South Carolina Highway 296 (SC 296) is a east–west state highway coursing through central Greenville and Spartanburg counties in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of South Carolina. Route description The west terminus of SC 296 is at a junction with SC 14 in west-central Greenville County and proceeds in a generally east-northeast direction. Shortly after the junction, the route merges with SC 146, but soon separates from SC 146 a short distance afterward. SC 296 then crosses into Spartanburg County as it traverses the Enoree River, and then intersects with SC 101 before passing through Reidville. Then, SC 296 intersects with SC 290 and SC 417 before intersecting with Interstate 26 (I-26) at exit 22 just outside the Spartanburg city limits.
