South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament
The South Atlantic Conference women's basketball tournament is the annual conference women's basketball championship tournament for the South Atlantic Conference. The tournament has been held annually since 1991. It is a single-elimination tournament and seeding is based on regular season records. The tournament champion receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Division II Basketball Championship. Results Notes * † Wingate's championship from 2012 has been vacated. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is a nonprofit organization that regulates student athletics among about 1,100 schools in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Queens Royals are the athletic teams that represent Queens University of Charlotte, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, in NCAA intercollegiate sporting competitions. The Limestone Saints are the athletic teams that represent Limestone University, located in Gaffney, South Carolina, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sporting competitions. The Saints compete as members of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) for most sports, having joined that league in July 2020 after 22 years in Conference Carolinas (CC). The Emory & Henry Wasps (also E&H Wasps) are the athletic teams that represent Emory & Henry College, located in Emory, Virginia, in NCAA Division II intercollegiate sports. Coker University is a private university in Hartsville, South Carolina. It was founded in 1908 and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Coker's sports teams, nicknamed the Cobras, compete in NCAA Division II. Catawba College is a private college in Salisbury, North Carolina. Founded in 1851 by the North Carolina Classis of the Reformed Church in Newton, the college adopted its name from its county of origin, Catawba County, before moving to its current home of Salisbury in 1925.
