South African Cricket Team In New Zealand In 2023–24
The South Africa cricket team toured New Zealand in February 2024 to play two Test matches. The Test matches formed part of 2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship. The series was contested for the Tangiwai Shield. The trophy commemorated the tragic events of 1953, when 151 people on the train from Wellington to Auckland on Christmas eve - including Nerissa Love, the fiancé of New Zealand fast bowler Bob Blair - lost their lives in the rail disaster. The disaster coincided with the second Test between New Zealand and South Africa, where Bob Blair was playing the match. Going into the series, South Africa had never lost a Test series against New Zealand, in 17 meetings. New Zealand won the first Test by 281 runs. Tim Southee
Timothy Grant Southee (born 11 December 1988), is a New Zealand international cricketer who plays for New Zealand cricket team in all formats of the game, captains in Tests and vice captains in T20Is. He is a right-arm fast-medium bowler and a hard-hitting lower order batsman. The third New Zealand bowler to take 300 Test wickets, he was one of the country's youngest cricketers, debuting at the age of 19 in February 2008. On his Test debut against England he took 5 wickets and made 77 off 40 balls in the second innings. Tom Blundell (cricketer)
Thomas Ackland Blundell (born 1 September 1990) is a New Zealand cricketer. He made his international debut for the New Zealand national cricket team in January 2017. He also plays first-class cricket for Wellington. In April 2019, he was named in New Zealand's One Day International (ODI) squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup, despite being uncapped in an ODI match. Clyde Fortuin
Clyde Fortuin (born 18 August 1995) is a South African cricketer. He was part of South Africa's squad for the 2014 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Ruan de Swardt (born 21 January 1998) is a South African cricketer. He made his List A debut for Northerns in the 2017–18 CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge on 4 March 2018. William Alexander Young (born 22 November 1992) is a professional cricketer who plays as a batsman for the New Zealand cricket team and captains Northamptonshire. Young was captain of the New Zealand Under-19 cricket team at 2012 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in December 2020. Neil Wagner
Neil Wagner (born 13 March 1986) is a South African-born New Zealand Test cricketer who plays for New Zealand and Northern Districts cricket teams. He played for Northerns until 2007/08 and Otago between 2008 and 2018. Mitchell Josef Santner (born 5 February 1992) is a New Zealand international cricketer who plays all forms of the game. Domestically, he plays for Northern Districts cricket team. Rachin Ravindra (born 18 November 1999) is a New Zealand international cricketer. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in September 2021. Kyle Jamieson (born 30 December 1994) is a New Zealand cricketer. He made his international debut for the New Zealand cricket team in February 2020 against India.
